“Proxima B – Any Possibilities for Human Base?”

Humans have been in the search of life which may be residing in outer space except our solar system. They have been able to distinguish these planets from those which might be able to support life on them. Space technology and development in it has helped humans to go beyond the boundaries humans ever imagined. The next big thing which could really bring a greater change would be inter planetary movements between our planet and other planets where we can live. Scientists have been in the search of various of these planets and have been successful in finding out those, but the real problem which is an area of concern is their distance from earth, which makes it much of a difficult task to reach. But in between all these, scientists have found a planet named Proxima B  in the Proxima Centauri. This century is near to the well know Alpha centauri. The planet is about 4.24 light years away which makes it one of the closest planets for us to reach other than our solar system which has a tendency to support life.

But the main question which do arises is that “Can we send humans to the planet, knowing the fact that it is at a distance of some light years, along with some important necessary factors like availability of Oxygen in abundance which will support life for so many years and also fuel to provide us the required thrust and power to keep it motion.”

Scientists believe that Proxima has capabilities to support life as it is at an adequate distance from its nearest star and thus lies in the Goldilock zone. They also believe it has a perfect chance to support life and also have possibilities if the atmosphere over there. So scientist do think that we can support life over there. But how to reach out there? Scientists are planning to send a lightweight satellite first with a phenomenon called Breakthrough Starshot, which would be lazer thrust given from the surface of earth and is expected to be travelling 1/20 the speed of light, thus reaching Proxima B within 15-20 years.

But how can we send humans to such a planet, about which we know very little and only have possibilities about it. This could be sending various satellites and rovers to and planned unmanned flights which would land on the surface and get us closer to the surface. But the process would take years and may be centuries to follow up. Also the starshot technique does lack in its ability to stop, this wouldn’t allow it to get a closer look, rather would just pass away from the planet. And rest techniques would take thousands of years to reach this planet.

So what could be the possible way out to solve this problem? Scientists believe that we can conduct space travel which would allow some of the chosen astronauts to remain in space for their lifetime and even die there. There further generations and generations would help us reach the planet. Also the oxygen and food will be made in space only. This could really transform the human genes and their way of living. But it’all theoreticals.

We still lack major technologies and assurity of various space phenomena, which do lack our possibilities to conduct various space experiments. There can be many developments and alternatives for space travel, maybe in the future, but with current technology, it’s possible to reach other planets as light years, but would take our generations to follow up this mission.

But the curiosity and different experiments may also lead us to find out new planets with the ability to support life, closure to our plants and thus make this dream of travelling in space to other planets than our solar system possible. But the recent advancement and projects which are working on includes the colonization of Mars. This would help us figure out their desired techniques, technologies and thus prepare us with better understanding of living standards to be followed on other planets than earth. Humans have the power to achieve zenith with their new ideas and will power, but nature being the divine power has many hidden secrets which are still hidden. Same is the case with the space. So we need to take care of the balance and steps for advancing but without any stakes to humanity .

The Tri-Service contingent of the Indian Armed Forces comprised 75 all ranks and marched along with contingents of Russian Armed Forces and 17 other countries, according to an official statement. The parade was reviewed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, war veterans, and guests, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. This year, 14,000 troops and several hundred military machines took part in the parade, including 30 historic T-34 tanks. President Putin congratulated the military and guests, saying this victory determined the future of the planet.

Russia postponed its military parade traditionally held on Moscow’s Red Square on May 9 for a later date due to the corona virus pandemic. On May 26, President Putin announced that the Victory Parade would be held on Moscow’s Red Square on June 2.He explained that this was chosen because, on June 24, 1945, the legendary historic parade of victors took place, when soldiers, who fought for Moscow and defended Leningrad, who stood their ground for Stalingrad, liberated Europe and stormed Berlin, marched on Red Square.

Menstruation!

A girl’s life no wonder is a complete mess starting right from the birth till the death. From listening to the taunts of parents like sit properly, behave mannerly, Can’t roam alone, should not go out at night, that’s not your field, every girl should know how to cook, stitch, know applying mehendi, should be creative, also should top in the class!! And what not…! List doesn’t end here…Alot is yet to be mentioned but lets not brag other points instead lets straight come to the point of mentrual cycle.

Basically, technically, genuinely (and other ly’s)this is the normal and ordinary topic. This is no big sin which a girl is committing wantedly. No girl wants to get treated like those 3 days as if murdered someone. Its not a big deal which people still seems not to understand. People reached to the moon and here we didn’t seem to overcome from common topic.

Common myths.

We have heard many myths about having periods. First of all the word ‘Period’ means Full stop.., and according to my theory this word denotes to let girls and ladies rest..full stop to their work for sometime as the body gets weak and they seems to loose immunity so to let them rest is what this term means! But, here in India everything is superstion, almost everything is connected to the God so that people should obey them. Girls are asked to not to enter kitchen, holly place, should not touch things, should be only at one place.

Not entering kitchen, having separate place to sit and sleep. All had reasons back then, because sanitary pads were not introduced early in those time that would be unhygienic as proper precautions couldn’t be taken..but what now!? Everything is available, all are aware of it, girls are taking necessary precautions then why still being biased..!

Not touching things, going near to the plants, worshipping almighty. Was all because of they were unable to maintain hygiene. But now girls are aware of everything..stop bothering in such small matters. “Ann(food) devta, agni devta, jal devta, vaayu devta, sab bhagwan ka hi hai toh inko touch karne se paap lagega na!!” According to this when a girl starting to get periods should die. Yes dying is what we are left with because everything around us is created by god, and touching those things will let us fall in committing sins, then better to die!!

We are in 21st century. There are many things around us to worry and take consideration about. Stop falling into such small matters and traumatise girls. They already are going through alot. This is as common as men getting bleed while battling wars…others assassinating and still living normal lives then why not in this case. No hate, please get out of this sick mentality and falling into others trap!!

How Books Influence Our Lives

Reading something is like giving food to your brain. Your brain then analyses, contemplates, and absorbs the information it deems worthy of knowing. And the best way to feed your brain is by reading books.

library

Those of you who have a taste for literature will vouch for the fact that a book changed their life during a dark hour or an idle point. It provided them with a sense of direction and taught them a lesson. For some, books help them articulate their thoughts and emotions and helped them find a voice.

Books, especially the good ones, have a sort of magical power. If you let them, they can change your whole life, give you an interesting outlook on things and help you grow as a person. Here are four ways in which a book can make you feel at home and simmer down your anxious minds.

  1. A sense of belonging

When you slowly build up your interest in a book, you begin to connect to the words on the paper. The book you are reading could have been written decades ago or maybe it is a second-hand book and many people have read it before you. You start to feel as if you have known the characters all your life. You begin feeling connected to the previous owner of the book. While reading this book, you are having a conversation with the said author. It is like your dreams and emotions are understood by someone else too. You finally feel like you belong somewhere, you are a part of something bigger than yourself.

  1. Widens your mental horizons

When you read more books, you travel to places mentally all the while exploring new places, vistas, and emotions in the fine print. You begin expanding the horizons of your mind. You learn more about the individuals and their customs, culture, traditions, and laws. All the great personalities have drawn inspiration from a character in a book at some point in time in their lives, whether it was knowingly or unknowingly.

  1. Self-confidence

Reading a book challenges your mind. It makes you question everything you know. The conviction with which a carefully crafted book will shake your beliefs to your core will demand you to stand up and rethink those flabby truths in your life. Your truth will be put to trial many times, inevitably forcing you to defend it and in the process making you stronger than before.

  1. Feeling of joy

If you start a book and don’t have any interest in that particular genre or that author’s writing style, you eventually keep the book down without reading it. You only prefer to keep reading a book that interests you with its plot or the delivery of its contents. This happens because you are reading a book to find pleasure. You look for a return on investment in every book you read, some sort of joy that you experience while reading it, or some sense of knowledge that you gain from it. Life is too short to read what doesn’t matter to us. So read what gives you joy and enriches you, letting it take you to new heights along with it.

Mothers Day poetry

I walked into my garden

The soil appeared to be scraps of papers sewn together disproportionately,

Rain came in like delayed parcels

I noticed the rose, dripping water off it’s petals

drop by drop and then it all— like your love

The sky descended down to me,

Solid as a glass, blue as a sea

I wiped off the clouds,

and looked at heaven,

And oh, it looked like you.

Plastic: Another reason for the slow death of plants

If you ever feel lonely, there is always someone to share your stories. Sit near a plant or a tree and talk to it, and you will feel better. Now, the plants want to tell you a story to you. Let’s start from its origin. A plant may grow on its own from the seeds which fly or get carried by the insects. There can be a possibility that you might plant a sapling on your birthday. It’s a widespread practice, and it’s done even on some occasions like Environment Day or as a part to save nature. But it may not last forever, it’ll leave you one day, you may not feel this, but some people are very much attached to nature.

A woman meditating under the shade of a tree.

They grow up with the plants, use their products, and build homes using bamboos, now and even it was a practice in the past. Plants have no opportunity left where they can’t help us. Right from feeding us, fulfilling our daily requirements for essential nutrients, and provide shade during sunny days, it has a long journey to convey to us. But the most severe issue is that due to our activities, the plants are indirectly getting harmed and pushing them slowly to death. Yes, the plants unknowingly accept the plastic we humans created, and we litter it without being concerned about the future. Such minor activities summing leads to global warming when plastics are burnt openly in air and damaging the ozone layer.

The beautiful scenery of trees along the road.

Thale cress, scientifically called as Arabidopsis thaliana, a weed that mostly grows on the edges of roads, was a part of a test where the plastic material is mixed in the soil. The results were devastating. The plastic molecules were less than 100 nanometers made its way in the plant, tested with another batch with clean soil. They were left to grow for ten days. It reduced the biomass of the growing plant, with shorter roots and lack of nutrients due to the ground’s impurities. This research took up at Shandong University, China. They also mentioned that new seedlings grew slower in contaminated soil.

This research can be such a critical issue; unknowingly, we consume plastic, it is even present in table salt, bottled water, and now through plants for a very long time. According to an estimate, 52 thousand tiny plastic molecules go into the body every year. It’s similar to consuming a credit card every week, not the money, but equivalent plastic weight.

You can save the planet with a smile, not by littering plastics shamefully.

There are already more than five trillion bits of plastic on the ocean surface. Initially, the production of plastic was slow from 2.1 million tonnes back in 1950. In 2015, this reached up to more than 406 million, out of which exponentially 6.3 billion tonnes of waste got generated. A mere 9 percent of waste was recycled, it can make situations where every seabird species will be consuming plastic instead of actual food. The dominant firms are on the way to find alternatives to reduce waste, and we can be a part of it, say no to plastic, and be a hero to save the planet Earth.

Call of Duty Mobile overtakes PUBG Mobile to surpass 250 million downloads worldwide

Call of Duty Mobile, which is the smartphone version of the popular game Call of Duty, was released on 1 October 2019, immediately breaking all records by raking up 150 million downloads in the first month itself.

Now, according to new estimates by Sensor Tower, Call of Duty Mobile has surpassed 250 million-plus downloads. This includes installs of all of the game’s versions across the world. Which means that since the October launch, Call of Duty Mobile has surpassed 250 million downloads.

Call of Duty Mobile most popular in the US

In terms of popularity, Call of Duty Mobile has been most popular in United States, where it has seen nearly 45 million downloads, or close to 18 percent the total number. India is the No 2 country for downloads, with Brazil coming in at 3.

“Till date, COD: mobile has raked around 327 million USD in player spending, this is 78 percent more than the amount generated by PUBG Mobile worldwide during the same period, after it began monetising in April 2018, and about 83 percent of what was spent in the iOS version of Fortnite in the same duration post-launch,” — Sensor Tower

Call of Duty Mobile is available to download on both Android and iOS devices for free. The game offers different maps and modes, including a 100-player battle royale battleground, fast 5v5 team death matches and sniper vs sniper battles. The game is is developed by TiMi Studios, and published by Activision.

“COD: Mobile saw its second-highest revenue of 53 million USD in May which is 62 percent more than its revenue in Jan and only second to its launch month of October where it earned around 55 million USD.The U.S.A is leading with $134 million revenue from player spending or 41 percent of the total revenue. Japan ranks No. 2 for revenue, while Brazil is No. 3 by this metric,” Sensor Tower added.

Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2020 Tournament was also announced back in April, as was a partnership between Activision Blizzard and Sony Mobile Communications. The event features more than $1 million in total prize money, which includes both cash and in-game rewards.

This is, however, far lesser than what PUBG Mobile announced for its 2020 equivalent, which is 5 million USD. PUBG Mobile has also regularly been creating hype by hosting tournaments with massive prize pools, even at the regional level. It remains to be seen how long it takes before Call of Duty Mobile comes close to these prize numbers as well.

BLACK MAGIC

Black magic in layman’s term ,is the use of magic/supernatural power for evil purposes. We  need to understand that black magic  is nothing but energy. Energy could be either divine or evil. It’s up to us how we take it. A beautiful example of this is electricity. Electricity is used by us for our daily life  purposes like cooling, heating, etc ,while on the  other hand it can be also be used for giving electric shocks to people in order to torture them.

The Story

A house in my neighbourhood which was reportedly rumoured haunted, had been shut for years. Until recently when a small family of four people moved into the city. It was only  after  a few days of stay, that they’d seen a skull on their door, filled with blood. As expected ,it scared the hell out of them and tried contacting the local “tantriks”, suspecting it could be a case of black magic. The tantrik visited the place, and said it’s been surrounded by negative spirits. All this eventually led to the downfall of the family ,as they got affected badly and faced a financial crisis. As a solution to the problem, he demanded Rs.50000 to perform the rituals. Months passed by, but when the family condition didn’t improve, they decided to shift. Later to the amusement of  all, it  was found that this was a prank played by the teenagers in neighbourhood. It was not because of the  black magic, but because of getting psychological affected that their condition deteriorated.

A lot of people may think that West Bengal is the hotspot, but looking to the number of rising cases of black magic in Kerala, it can be called a rumour. In order to curb the growing number of black magic cases in Kerala and to spread awareness across the country  ,they brought “The Anti-Superstition And Black Magic” bill. The basic right of people were exploited, specially menstruating girls who were isolated in name of Black Magic. According to the bill, anyone doing anything in name of black magic would be punishable by law. The penalty under the offence is imprisonment up to 1 year, or a fine ranging from Rs. 5000 to Rs.1 lakh .In case of death ,it would be reported under the section 300 of IPC. The popular tantriks of kerala have agents, who have their packages planned for clients.

Not a lot of people are aware that lately, Bengaluru is in the process of being the next hub of Black Magic ,besides being known as the “IT Capital of India”. It’s common not only in the corporate culture, but also amongst the lovers. Owing to the high demand, people are ready to pay  anything sum of amount. Black magic do exist, but to some extent. There is not much science behind it though. It could only affect us to some extent, the rest is up to us. If we’re mentally and physically string we can easily overcome ,without coming under pressure. Black magic can even be used for positive purposes like transforming lives, health. However, in a country like India where people are influenced by age old sayings, the negative influence is more than the positive influence. We can however protect ourselves from black magic,be focusing on the right type of energy.

Women and Agriculture

Agriculture in India, contributing about 15.5 per cent of GDP, is a female intensive activity. In a typical rural-agro household, women pursue multiple livelihood strategies often managing complex issues. Her activities vary from performing multiple farm operations for producing the crops, rearing animals, and preparing food to work for wages in agricultural or other rural enterprises, collecting fuel and water, engaging in trade and marketing, caring for family members and maintaining their homes. Though national account does not classify many of this economically active employment they are vital and essential to the well-being of rural households.
The Agriculture Census, 2015–16 has revealed a very promising trend. The census established that the share of female operational holders has increased from 12.79 per cent in 2010–11 to 13.87 per cent in 2015–16. In terms of the operated area, the share of women increased from 10.36 per cent to 11.57 per cent. This signifies that more and more females are participating in the management and operation of agricultural lands.

Agriculture and Female Employment

The central role in all operations of agriculture and even rural household management is played by women. They are involved in all aspects of agriculture, from crop and seed selection to harvest and post-harvest management, marketing, and processing. According to estimates, the agricultural sector employs about 4/5th of all economically active women. Women have a clear edge in dairying and animal husbandry also.
Close to 75 million women are engaged in dairying and 20 million in animal husbandry against 15 million men in dairying and 1.5 million in animal husbandry. Nevertheless, the percentage of female engaged in agriculture has been sizeable at 54.6percent in 2019 against 39.5 per cent of male. The contribution of female workers and farmers has been much larger in agriculture and allied activities than men. The withdrawal of women and men workforce from agriculture is a welcome move due to the empowerment of women through better education, alternative employment opportunities and access to rights and resources, etc.
In a developing nation like ours where urbanization is becoming a social development order, the large number of women needs to move out from agriculture to join services and industrial sector. When examining that of the participation of men, the decline is comparatively lower to that of women.
Women have been instrumental in agricultural development and rural prosperity.
Rural women play a vital role not only in crop planning and cultivation but also in high-value activities like horticulture, primary food processing, livestock rearing, fisheries and cottage industries.
Although women have been contributing dominantly in the rural labour force, they are marginalised and disadvantaged in wages, land rights and representation in group activities. Women have very limited access to productive resources which consequently limits their productivity. Somehow, the needs and aspirations of the women labour force could not get true focus in the rural development initiatives in the past.

Summing Up

Several out of box initiatives of the Government for skills development, subsidised loans for businesses led by women, recent legislation doubling maternity leave, and childcare facilities in companies that employ more than 50 people will have the far-reaching impact on women empowerment and give a boost to India’s economy. The number of women in the total workforce in India is only 27 per cent, and more seriously, almost 20 million women had withdrawn from the workforce during 2005 and 2012. On a global landscape, India ranked 120th among 131 countries so far as women workforce participation is concerned. Adding to woe is the worsening state of gender-based violence in India.
