HUMANIZING VICTIMS OF SEX TRAFFICKING

Immanuel Kant’s Moral philosophy is credited for emphasizing the importance of human life and treating them as an end in themselves. In his doctrine, he specifically says quote-unquote ” It is not appropriate to use persons as though they were things purely at our disposal and without a will of their own”. While we ponder upon this and implement this in our daily life can the same be said about the victims of sex trafficking? Should they also be valued as having human worth? The sex trafficking racket is a discreet booming industry with a network ranging from your local neighborhood to the various cartels functioning over the world. These victims are not only assigned a value in terms of money but also seen as a commodity to be used at the abuser’s pleasure. Surveys conducted around the world show that the average age of trafficked victims to be between 18-34 with the predators targeting children at a mere age of 9-18. These helpless victims are lured with the promise of stable income, marriage, and emotionally manipulated into being dependent on their traffickers. With the onset of globalization, it was safe to assume that it would lead to the availability of goods world over but nobody could foresee that human beings could also be trafficked and sold like goods in the same manner. The critically acclaimed readers digest which is well known for its inspirational real-life stories reported one such incident in which a gutsy young woman helped rehabilitate the sex workers in her village area and gave them stable jobs. When interviewed about the motive behind her actions she said quote-unquote” They are not just girls. They are my daughters”.These women are treated as an outcast and shunned by society, the very same society in which they were born ultimately disowned them. These hard-hitting facts were revealed to the public sometime in 2008. She even has opened Astha Nivas, a children’s home to shelter the victims of sexual exploitation who are as young as three. This empowering real-life story is about none other than Sunitha Krishnan, a social activist, and Padma Shri awardee. BBC was accounted for interviewing the case of a young Indonesian woman Shandra Woworuntu who was caught in this sex trafficking industry after being deceived by her traffickers. She started an organization, Mentari, which helps survivors reintegrate into the community, and connects them to the job market. These victims go through severe trauma and some even keep on reliving their painful past day after day. “It’s hard to be accepted by the society” “We were treated as commodities before but now we are given even worse treatments” are some of the dilemmas these helpless victims have to face. It is because of some of these brave hearts like Sunitha Krishnan and Shandra Woworuntu that these young girls are given a second chance at life. The present situation is far grimmer. Because of the rising pandemic, these victims of sex trafficking have it worse. With no means to get a job nor have access to necessities, some of them revert to the sex industry to make ends meet. Their only source of help now remains with the NGOs which strive to help get them out of the murky waters.

2020:- A tragic year.

A ‘New year’ is something which gives hope to the new things, the coming year people put in positive vibes all over. They put up with the new year resolutions and same was with this year too..some may follow, others might not!   January seemed to be pretty good at start. Atleast here in India. The nation wide festival of sankranti was celebrated beautifully, the sky was filled with colourful kites. Everyone seemed joyous and happy. Later then the hype was spreaded all over about the delhi riots over the topic CAA and NRC. People were protesting like anything in the capital city. Protest got worse and worse and no one was ready to tie up the things.

Now came the turn of February. The government of India came to know about the virus which was not crucial back then. Citizens were not aware of the situation of the outbreak of the Novel coronavirus which was originated from China-Wuhan. Indians from the foreign countries started returning back to the India. There the people were cautious about the virus but were not sure that that might turn into a horrible and deadly virus in the coming days.

In march The WHO addressed the virus as ‘pandemic’ which was soon be spreading all over the world. Wuhan recorded the highest number of cases and then Italy was suffering. Situation turned so bad that nation wide lockdown was introduced. It was the first country to introduce. Soon India was hit by this pandemic too and after a one day public curfew, we also were introduced to the nationwide lockdown. For this generation it is really tough to sit all day long at home without mingling. But people succeeded doing this. The IPL which was scheduled to take place at the end of the march was postponed. The economy reduced drastically. GDP is expected to reach 0. Unemployment is hitting hard. Only the groceries or the medication stores seemed to have hike in their profits. People spitting on doctors, on ordinary people’s to let them suffer through this virus. Those suffering through this virus has beem running from the hospital’s.

April about to start, here comes the news of delhi being hit by earthquake. Not once neither twice but 3 times delhi was hit by earthquake, along with UP. Everything has stopped until now. Sitting at home became the only choice for people.

May(month) in the process. News came of Irfan khan passed due to rare cancer, before 10-12 days his mother passes away. The next day the news came of passing of Rishi Kapoor…after the immediate days, Vizag gas leak in vishakhapatnam in the early morning was reported. On the similar day news of gas leak at paper mill industry in Raigargh, chattisgarh reported. And lastly the boiler explosion at neyveli lignite corporation thermal power station in tamil nadu showed up. Also, the train ran all over the migrants out of which 14 were dead. People were wandering about what more is left to hit to get situation worsened. But this doesn’t seemed to stop right away, The cyclone ‘amphan’ was to be hit harder near West bengal, Odisha, and Bangladesh. Massive damage was done and its yet to be recovered. Locusts attacked in various cities of Rajasthan and Gujarat. Fire broke out in various cities.

The current month June…Cases of this pandemic is rising day by day. India ranked at 5th place to have the maximum cases. After the 2 weeks of the june, News came of our beloved actor Mr. Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide out of depression, Lost another talented star. God surely has the deficiency of stars in the sky…! Later India and Nepal ran into the disputes. Amid the coronavirus pandemic people are still struggling over the land. China and India broke out having war over the borders despite of suffering through this pandemic. Now the capital city is at high alert as the terrorists broke into the cities…!!

Don’t know what more is coming our way. Live your life to the fullest even if you are at home. Don’t criticise as I only wrote bad news here because the topic I chose is only about the tragedies we are suffering through!!

Stay home stay safe…Be positive!! We are introduced to the vaccination.

BED- FOR A BETTER TOMORROW

Happiness is sleeping undisturbed till you wake up naturally and that is why I am here for you to make it real. For that we provide more facility than a room actually needs. As per sleepys hybrid mattress review, from a shiny floor with mattress to wall mounted wardrobe that is made of good furniture. We always try our best so that we can make it feel like heaven for you. With the small wooden compartments that are above the ground so that you can keep your things and to give it a modern touch so that you can “live today, plan tomorrow and party tonight”

Simplicity is the key note to all true elegance. That is why i always tries its best for you. Today we came up with the new idea of wardrobe which is open, not like the other wardrobes which have large doors. A room should never allow the eye to settle in one place, it should smile at you and create a fantasy world for you. This wardrobe will not only reduce the working space but gives a “luxury finish” to your house because the essence of “interior design” will always be about people and how they live, it is about the realities of what makes of attractive, civilized and a meaningful environment, not about the fashion or what’s in or what’s out

The kitchen is one’s shrine, the cook is the priest, the table is their altar and their belly is their god. The kitchen is one of the most utilised among all the places in the house which has to be fully functional and organised. That is why I always came up with the idea of open kitchen. One of the best ways to give a modern design to your kitchen is by using a completely white cabinets and lighting which would make your kitchen look neat. We provide a large surface in the kitchen which will provide you enough space for food preparation. Lower kitchen cabinets which are made of wood will provide a luxury finish to the kitchen and floor papers matching your kitchen cabinets which will give you an environmental feel while working.

How to purchase material in market:-
There are only two possibilities when you at your interiors of a house and for that you must have some choosy style in yourself.
First of all we have to see what material has to be used in designing, whether it is wood, natural stone, ceramic, glass etc.
Secondly we have to see for what part of house we are using it that is whether it is lobby, living room, washroom console etc.
Then we see towards that who is their manufacturer, whether it is Marca corona, caino, cleaf or bolon.
Then the role is played by the designer that is either Erin adams, angelo ferrucci or ABVA
Then we see the availability of the product that we are assuming to be used in our home
Thank you for today

Today’s need TO preserve the environment

Pollution is one of the evils brought about by the growth of science and technology. The undesirable change in the properties of nature is called pollution. It harms the health and life of humans. The man is responsible for pollution by adding impurities into the air, water, and soil. By polluting air, we polluting our breath. Our health depends on the quality of the air we breathe. Factories and industries let out the smoke. Toxic gases found in the smoke that pollutes the air. The intake of polluted air causes diseases like lung cancer, asthma, and nervous disorders. Due to pollution, the ozone layer gets depleted. It results in an entry of harmful ultraviolet radiation into the earth causing diseases like skin cancer. water gets polluted when toxic and acidic wastes are disposed of into it. This will certainly contaminate water. These will cause diseases such as jaundice, typhoid, cholera, dysentery etc. Unpleasant and loud sounds which make discomfort is called Noise pollution. It will cause psychological tension, nervousness. Land pollution is caused by the accumulation of non-degradable pollutants such as plastics, polythene bags etc. And lead to lost its fertility.

The first and foremost step is to create awareness about the harmful effects of pollution. Factories should adopt strict pollution control measures. The use of non-conventional energy sources such as solar energy and wind energy should be encouraged. Bio-fertilizers must be used in agriculture. Deforestation should totally be stopped. Green plants are to be cultivated around the industries. This will ensure not only the reduction of noise pollution but also render fresh air. Unless some measures are taken to control pollution at its source, the pollutants will certainly pose a hazard to human health or threaten the efficiency of agricultural production. Pollution-free society will be the best legacy that we can hand down to posterity.

The Gentle Fight?

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

The first stanza opens with the speaker pleading to his dying father not to give up. He requests him to keep fighting, to keep burning and raving even when the day ends, to burn brightly even when the light starts to flicker and all hope seems to end.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

The poet says that the wise men know that death is a part of the inevitable circle of life but they should keep fighting for their words had not yet made a mark on this world, for they were yet to prove so much more. Thus the speaker says that no matter what people should keep fighting, to make a difference, to make their presence felt.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

The poet talks of the ‘good men’. The good men are those who may have done a lot of good for the mankind but they feel that their deeds might have been in vain and if they had got a little more time their deeds might have been successful like dancing in a green bay. Thus during the last moments of their life like the last wave, they should also rage against all odds.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

There are some men who have spent their lives wildly by enjoying, celebrating and cherishing the beauty of life. They sang and learnt later that they have wasted their time and could have accomplished so much more. The sun in-flight’ means the moving sun that continuously goes from the east to the west. The wild men busy in cherishing the sunrise fail to realise that they are nearing the end of their life.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Grave men possibly refer to ailing people who are nearing to death and they lose their eyesight yet they remain strong in their mind. They realise that even though they are blind they could be passionate and blaze like meteors and be happy. Thus they also try to rage and fight against death.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

The poet now addresses his father directly who is sad and is nearing his death. He asks his father to cry passionately which would be a form of catharsis and thus it would lighten his father’s sadness and that will be both as a curse and blessing for him. He requests him not to go gentle into the good night and thus he should fight and keep fighting against the flickering and feeble light of the life given to us.

Are those in power responsible for misery of poor in INDIA

No single reason is upheld for misery for poor in India. Poor suffer daily because of lack of employment, improper medical and educational infrastructure, uncertain implementation of beneficial policies and corruption. If we connect the dots well, all these point to the same culprit the system . System itself is a hierarchy of those in power, consisting of The Rule Makers (Ministers and the political circuit), those responsible for execution (The bureaucracy), and The Guardians of Justice (Judiciary and Police). As soon as we start talking about responsibility among them, stones start flying making indecent curves. Among this pelting of stones the only victims are the poor, who cannot afford to have shields. Shield of money, shield of power, shield of social status.

Let me get down to facts

1. Abhishek Verma arms deals scandal (AgustaWestland)

In 2006, Abhishek was accused of receiving benefits of approximately $200 million, through a $5 billion Indian military deal involving the Indian government’s acquisition of six Scorpène-class submarines.

2. Wakf Board land scam

This scam most possibly is the biggest land scam in the country till date, the Karnataka Wakf Board land scam involves the alleged misappropriation of land allocation worth Rs 2k billion.

3. Telgi scam

Telgi Appointed 350 fake agents to sell stamp papers to banks, and stock brokerage firms. The scam amount involved was pegged at Rs 200 billion.

4. The ‘Coalgate’ scam

While initially the loss to the exchequer was pegged at Rs 10.7 lakh crore, the final report stated that the scam amounted to Rs 18.6 lakh crore.

5. 2G Spectrum scam

This scam surfaced, it was revealed that the state, in 2008, had undercharged mobile telephone firms for frequency allocation licenses and credentials. The CAG of India stated that “the difference was Rs 1.76 trillion”.

6. Adarsh Housing Society scam (Housing Society)

The episode of Adarsh Co-operative Housing Society reveals how a group of select powerful officials, placed in key posts could subvert rules and regulations in order to grab government land  for personal benefit.

7. Commonwealth Games scam (CwG Scam)

The CwG scam took India by storm in 2010 involving a game of around Rs 70,000 crore. Since its inception, the games were in grip of a maze of corrupt deals. This included unduly contracts, cheating, and forgery.

8. Satyam scam (India’s Enron scandal)

‘India’s Enron scandal’, the 2009 corporate scam shook the Indian shareholders community. Ramalinga Raju, the Chairman of SCS, confessed that he had foul played with the company’s accounts, inflating the revenue and profit. The Scam involved Rs 14,000 crore.

The above mentioned are nothing but example of exploitation of our beloved country by those in power. We are common citizens of this fake civilized society, we as a society too are responsible for those who suffer, but the indifference in our attitude can be identified similarly with those we blame.

So as to conclude, I wish to say that in this game of fixing responsibility, the poor the sufferer is somewhere sidelined, we miss out on the essence of social justice. We should start owning our mess and work in accordance to sort in out. To develop the world we need to help those lagging behind.

Trends in Contemporary Public Relations

Public Relations: Why It Matters - Activated Growth

Public Relations is regarded as the cornerstone for individuals, companies and start-ups to establish their credibility in the market. Public relations is rapidly changing, evolving and adapting new methods such as engaging videos, online content, bloggers outreach, influencers and many more such techniques to achieve maximum limelight. There are a few major trends that are easy to spot. These are:

  1. Big Data: New age public relations have become ever dependent on data. Audiences today are tech-savvy they are highly dependent upon technology for their day-to-day activities. Digital and social media communications have opened up a new channel through which PR firms can reach a brand’s target audience. The business is headed into a new direction where devising and executing digital and social media campaigns are imperative to create brand awareness.
  2. Influencer Outreach: The world today consists of people who are trusted and highly followed by people. Bloggers too have become extremely influential and those who are credible can be the go-to person when you need to send the word out about your company. In the past few years, influencer outreach has garnered immense limelight in the field. Targeting relevant influencers is an important segment to reach a wider audience.
  3. Importance of leadership: Earlier, the role of imparting thought leadership content was confined only for top-level executives such as the CEO, COO, and CMO, etc. Now, this trend will gradually shift to other leaders and consultants within the company who will share note-worthy and interesting insights with the public. The emphasis will be on people of lower leadership and making them essential to the company. This will help a brand target a wider, more diverse audience and share more content. Also, encouraging employees to take an active thought leadership role will aid companies to grow their own personal brand.
  4. Use of analytics: Companies in modern public relations are embracing numbers and analytics. Companies, including the tech, market themselves based on social impact, and they do their research, collect their data from both prospective and existing clients, and then put some sense in those data. Putting them into perspective in the form of website traffic, a number of leads, etc. makes sense of the drill of analytics.
  5. Customer satisfaction: The final outcome of any PR exercise has to be customer satisfaction. It is mandatory to ensure that the product or service has to be perfect. Startups looking for press coverage after developing the minimum viable product (MVP) should ensure that the core part of that MVP executes the idea and solves the problem it set out to solve first.

As men’s are important for the country’s progress than women’s are equally important for country’s progress. There is no meaning of celebrating these days if you do not understand the crux of the meaning of equality. A modern world needs a modern thinking. And gender equality begins with an individual mind or thinking. It is an individual perception of treating another person. This type of thinking cannot be changed so quickly. It needed to be properly looked at. They are need to tell about the equality, the importance of equality and the perception need to be changed.
