The Largest Solar Eclipse Of This Century – 21 June 2020

Today’s solar eclipse was the largest solar eclipse of this century. When the sun, moon and earth are aligned in a straight line or almost in same configuration, with which the moon comes between the sun and earth which  blocks the sun rays directly reaching to earth. This phenomenon is called solar eclipse. Solar eclipse are of three kinds based on alignment total, partial and annular. Today’s solar eclipse was an annular solar eclipse where the moon was far from the earth thet the sun was not completely covered by its relative size and only the outer rims were visible and it created a ring of fire in sky. The annual solar eclipse was started at 9:15 AM IST and was visible until 3:04 PM IST. The maximum eclipse was seen at 11:55 to 12:10. The eclipse was visible much from Asia, Africa, the Pacific and Indian Ocean, parts of Europe and Australia.

According to Nehru Planetarium Bhuj was the first city in India where the beginning of eclipse was visible at 9:58 am. The eclipse end at 4 hours later at 2:29 pm. This eclipse was not good. Looking directly to sun could cause harm to eyes so use of special goggles, welder’s shield, or pin-hole imaging technique were recommended to see the solar eclipse. It also can caused permanent damage to retina.

It was the second solar eclipse of 2020. It was seen at many places in India. It was seen mainly in Dehradun, Sirsa and Rajasthan in the form of fire ring. The net eclipse will be on 14 December but it will not be seen in India. It was also seen in Nepal, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Ethiopia and Congo. Its most effect was seen in New Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Banglore Chennai, Shimla, etc.

According to religious beliefs, first of all take a bath after the eclipse ends. Although there is a belief of bathing in the holy rivers, but in view of the corona infection, it would be better to take bath by mixing Ganga water in the bath water at home. It is believed that to avoid the ill effects of the eclipse, donations should be made after the eclipse ends. After cleaning the house, God should be worshiped by cleaning the place of worship. Immediately after the eclipse is over, the entire house should be cleaned thoroughly. Because it is believed that negative energy comes into the house during solar eclipse. So after cleaning, must show sunlight or incense smoke in the whole house.

Taylor’s Scientific Management

Taylor’s Historical Background

Scientific Management concept was developed by Fredrick Winslow Taylor. He was born in 1856. He was an American and began his career as a mechanist. He became popular through his theory of management and therefore also known as ‘Father of Scientific Management’.

While he was working in factories and mechanical shops he observed that owners and managers knew very little about what actually took place in the workshops. Taylor soon realized and believed that the system could be improved, and he looked around for an incentive. He settled on money. He believed a worker should get “a fair day’s pay for a fair days work” – no more, no less. If the person is unable to complete the target then he should not be paid. He also believed that both management and labour should cooperate and work together to achieve organisational goals. He was the first to suggest that primary functions of managers should be planning and training.

Taylor’s Scientific Management

Scientific Management means applying the scientific methods and tools to increase the output its quality and reduce costs and wastage. It is a systematic and thoughtful approach.

In words of Taylor, “Scientific Management means knowing exactly what you want from men to do and seeing that they do it in the best and the cheapest way”.

The concept of scientific management was given to improve the productivity, efficiency and effectiveness in the organization through the application of the proposed scientific principles and techniques.

Principles of Scientific Management

The philosophy of scientific management is based upon the following principles.

1. Science, not Rule of Thumb –

According to Taylor, each job should be performed in an organisation as per the scientific approach as these were developed after proper analysis and research. It should not follow rule of thumb which was based on trial and error method and approaches were based on intuition which was not suitable for modern business. When science is applied instead of the rule of thumb, to any job, it standatdizes work and help workers get a specialised way of performing task by avoiding wastage of time, cost and other valuable resources.

2. Harmony, not Discord –

Taylor emphasised on maintaining harmony between the management and workers in the workplace. This will avoid conflict and will promote friendly relationship among them which can result in improvement and growth in productivity of both labour and managers. He also said that there should be a transformation in thinking of both parties, which implies that management should share the gains with workers and workers should work hard for the betterment of business.

3. Cooperation, not Individualism-

This principle is an extension of principle of harmony. Competition should be replaced by cooperation. Management and workers both should Realise that they need each other. For this, management should entertain the constructive suggestions of employees and at the same time, workers should also cooperate with management. According to Taylor, there must be an equal division of work and responsibility between workers and management.

4. Development of each and every person to his/her greatest efficiency –

As per this principle, Taylor had the view that due concern should be given to increase efficiency. It could be built right from process of employee selection. Each person should be scientifically selected and then assigned work as per their specialization. He believed that employees should be give proper training of the task they need to perform because no human being is perfect, and there is always a scope of improvement. Hence training and development improve competency, skills and learning of the workforce. It is beneficial for both the organisation and the workers.

Techniques of Scientific Management

Following techniques were deployed by FW Taylor for manufacturing and production units:

1. Functional Foremanship –

Taylor developed the technique of functional foremanship. Under this technique, planning and execution are separated from each other. According to Taylor, single worker or supervisor cannot be expected to be an expert in all aspects. Thus, he advocated the appointment of eight firemen, out of which four will be responsible for planning and the rest four will be concerned with the execution of work.

Let us see the hierarchy under the functional foremanship –

Factory Manager

A factory manager is a person who holds the highest managerial position in the unit and is responsible for the proper functioning of the organisation.

Planning Incharge-

A planning incharge is responsible for the formulation of policies, strategies and procedures of the operational activities. To simplify the work, following four clerks are appointed under the planning incharge.

a. Instruction Card Clerk:

The instruction card clerk will determine and direct how the work has to be performed.

b. Route Clerk:

A route clerk will decide what all is to be done and the steps which are to be taken to perform a particular task.

c. Time and Cost Clerk:

The person who determines the time limit in which the work is to be completed and the cost involved in carrying out each task is known as a time and cost clerk.

d. Disciplinarian :

A disciplinarian is a clerk who ensures discipline, follows rules and regulations and code of conduct in the organisation.

Production Incharge :

A production incharge needs to take care of all the operational and production activities. The four clerks assigned under a production incharge are as follows :

a. Speed Boss :

The speed boss is responsible for getting the work done on time.

b. Gang Boss :

The person w looks after the availability of all the equipment, tools and accessories is a gang boss.

c. Repair Boss :

The repairs boss has to take care of the repairs, maintenance and overhauling of the tools and machinery used for production.

d. Inspector :

The inspector is responsible for ensuring that all activities are being carried out in a planned manner. He/she also checks whether the quality of the products are as per standards or not.

Workman : He is a labour or worker at the operational level of the organisation who is responsible for actually performing the given task. Each worker is supervised and monitored by the eight different clerks, as mentioned above.

2. Standardisation and Simplification of Work :

Standardisation is the process of fixing well thought and tested norms with a view to maximize efficiency of work. Standardisation of product implies that the size, design, quality, shape etc of the product should meet the requirements and tastes of consumers.

Simplification means eliminating superfluous sizes, varieties and dimensions. It’s aim is to eliminate unnecessary diversity of products and thereby reduce costs. It will also help in achieving economy in the use of required machines and tools.

3. Work Study :

Taylor emphasised on examining and analyzing the working at the operational level of the organisation. It develops a systematic course of action and resolves the problems faced by labours and workers who are responsible for accomplishing the given task and duties.

Under this technique there are following four significant concerns of the organisation :

a. Method Study :

The managers come across numerous ways of performing a particular task or carrying out the production of goods or services. Out of all these possible methods, selection of the most appropriate way, which is cost effective and also increases the production is considered a method study.

b. Motion Study :

The motive behind conducting this study was to determine the movement of workers while performing a job. According to Taylor, it is necessary to analyze the movements of workers like how many times he lifts the objects, puts the objects because all these movements sometimes delay the work. Thus this study helps in knowing the productive and unproductive motions.

c. Time Study :

Analysing the time consumed for carrying out the given task in a specified manner is Taylor’s another scientific management technique which is called a time study. If an activity takes more time than the defined standard, it may lead to delay and decline in productivity. And if a task is accomplished much before the given time, it may lack efficiency.

d. Fatigue Study :

If an individual keeps on working without rest or pauses, it affects their health and efficiency. Therefore, fatigue study originated. This study seeks to find out the amount and frequency of rest intervals in completing a task. The objective of study is to find out how long a person can perform the standard task without any adverse effects on his health.

4. Differential Piece Wage System :

Taylor strong advocated piece wage system. He wanted to differentiate between efficient and inefficient workers. Under this system of wage payment, wages are paid on the basis of work done. According to him, higher rates were given to the workers who are producing standard products or more and lower rates were given to those who are producing less. Hence he talked about performance based remuneration and incentive based motivation.

5. Mental Revolution :

Taylor gave a powerful concept on changing the perception and attitude of both the employees and the management. They should both work together considering each other as family. There must be proper coordination and understanding among workers and the management in order to achieve organizational goals. Both of them must value efforts of each other and work together, creating a positive environment to achieve common organisational goals and objectives.

Natural Calamities – Uncertainty and different Possibilities.

Nature is a divine power and we humans still face challenges to fight back its cruelty and become tougher to survive during its duration and the time after it’s gone. These calamities are all natural, and these include earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, cyclones and various others which do question the survival of human and other living breeds on this planet. These have been a part of earth atmosphere and earth is confined to happening of these every year in various parts of the world. There have been times when these calamities have peaked up and had shown their devastating phase harming both men and material. We have seen earthquakes of magnitude 9.5 in early 60’s in Chile, , we have seen floods, typhoons, tsunamis and many more which have been proven to be deadliest.

We hear about these hurricanes and cyclones or typhoons each meaning the same. These differ in their names on the basis of their presence, like we often name tropical storms of high speed as hurricanes in the North Atlantic Ocean, while similar strong winds are named as cyclones in South pacific and Indian oceans. These are usually storms which are rotating at high speeds. We know that pressure is low near these tropical areas because the air is warm . These form when the warm and moist air over the ocean rises  this attracts the nearby colder air to accumulate nearby by forming the swirls of air. The moist air continues to rise and thus cools, forming clouds. These clouds usually continue to swirl and thus go on expanding. These hurricanes can be really strong and effective and thus cause a lot of destruction to the area which is hit with it.

So we do acknowledge how these hurricanes can be really harmful for us and thus cause a lot of destruction but “What if 2 or more hurricanes coming from distant areas collide, what would be the result and how would it affect the humans”. This Phenomenon of two hurricanes coming close don’t happen often but scientists believe that it do happen. But The Fact to concentrate is that scientists also believe that these could become a common calamity as the temperature of earth’s rising, it would really be a bad experience if one came across such scenario of two hurricanes colliding. So it’s believed that if the two hurricanes are of equal size and strength, they would orbit around a common centre. This could result in sending or pushing them back in different directions or maybe it could end this due to collision. But if one is bigger in size or strength, then the smaller one would get absorbed in the  bigger one, which can increase the power and strength and life span of the hurricane. This could really impact humanity by it’s destruction.

“Climatologists  believe that in future times these could become common and the speed of these winds could increase significantly since the earth temperature is rising. These would lead to rise of more storms in the tropical areas. We believe that it’s all natural and humans can’t do anything about these. But since we understand the importance of “Global Warming” and “Climate Change”, which is affecting earth’s temperature to rise. We could strongly work on our carbon emissions and factors leading to these phenomena. We can shift to a better source and mode of technology and infrastructure which would not only help us fight with increasing global warming but also protect us during occurrence of these natural calamities. We humans do have a bigger part in these natural calamities which we hide to blame and thus question our nature everytime”.

“Take some time to spend in nature.”

Being a green panther, I feel that nature can heal all your pains and so I am always in search of a place that is the closest to nature. Living in close proximity to nature offers so many advantages.

Whenever you are feeling like doing nothing and frustrated about your life or you don’t feel like meeting anyone virtually or physically, then the first thing you should do is to get out of your home and spend some time in nature.

Just plan for a picnic with your family or friends to a park or a beach or mountain side or let the nature lover in you take a solo trip to the forest and see the changes that happen in your behaviour. You instantly feel so joyful and calm. The time that you spend at these places will restore back your interest in life.

● Nature teaches you so many things:
Every element of nature is our teacher in some or the other way. We can learn from the river to keep going ahead in life and find our own way during tough times. The tree teaches us to be of giving nature without expecting much from others. The sun teaches us to be polite and stay down to earth even when you are the most powerful. We get to learn from the moon to remain peaceful during hard times in our life.

● Nature inspires us:
Nature motivates us in our lives and encourages us to have a positive outlook for life. Nature heals on its own without any human help. Likewise, it teaches us to be strong in every situation and try again even if you fail once in your work. It boosts your confidence and belief.

● Nature surprises you every time:
Spending time on a beach, trekking on a mountain or walking through a forest will mesmerize you with its beauty. Everything included in nature is so beautiful and attractive. The gorgeousness of nature just blows your mind and surprises your every moment with its charm.

● Nature heals you :
Whenever you are unhappy about something, spending time in nature will definitely improve your mood. It will relieve your stress and sorrows. By looking at the colourful and beautiful nature, you feel so relaxed and become happy. It calms your mind and makes you feel refreshed.

● Nature revitalizes you:
When you get bored and tired of your daily routine, spending some time in nature always proves to be beneficial. Nature helps to boost your imagination and creativity skills. It brings back your lost energy and enthusiasm.

● Nature never leaves you alone:
Whenever you feel betrayed in life and disappointed about people’s behaviour, then the best thing to do is get in the arms of mother nature. Nature always accepts you and nurtures you. It acts as a teacher and also helps you as a friend by providing many valuable resources.

Mother nature has always helped humans since ancient times. We get many physical and mental benefits by staying close to nature. Despite the innumerable gains that we get from it, humans behave ruthlessly with it by causing its destruction. We are already facing difficulties due to the imbalances that we have created in nature. But, it is our responsibility to preserve everything related to nature and live with it happily.

🎶Magic Of Music🎶

MUSIC🎶nurtures us even more than food does. The lyrics may hurt us, may hurt our soul, or fill us up. Listening to music can be like melting your body and your spirit into one, pampering your senses, exploring, touching and caressing yourself with the same urgency of two unbridled lovers.Music is with us when our words fade away. When we can’t seem to explain joy or sadness, when our emotions block us off and when we have something to celebrate. It doesn’t abandon us in the storm or the calm. It helps us heal our emotional wounds, grow and cleanse our interior. As Oscar Wilde said, it’s the art that’s closest to tears and memories.Music tunes to our moods within secondsMusic helps us be alone with our thoughts. It transports us to a magic world, to a place where everything becomes more tolerable. A place where we can cry until we dry up or smile until we’re sore.Music is to the soul what gym is to the body. It’s the fast lane towards tuning in with our interior. It seems to allow us to exist, to awaken our senses and to be infinite. When we have a problem, when we’re blocked or when everything upsets us, the melody of a song arrives and becomes our favorite for a while. In some way, when it arrives it becomes a seal of identity, our warrior cry. It becomes our connect and disconnect button.flowers coming out of tubaIf there’s music in your soul, it will be heard around the world It doesn’t matter how many years go by, when good music touches your heart, it never leaves. Music is our best time machine. A precious whim that sweetens and intoxicates our heart, making us hold our breath.I believe in music as a place in which we can all find ourselves. It helps us all during our worse moments and has the ability to fill the best moments of our lives with colors. We can forget a word, a face or a date, but we can never forget a melody and its moment. Because it transported us to a world of sensations to explore, which managed to set free a part of us that we didn’t know before.piano in the oceanWho has never thought “this song was made for me”? We have all felt that music was ours, as if someone had come into our body and put our soul into notes. There are melodies that cause our emotions to return to their purest state. And our feelings and realities become songs. In fact, if someone asked us what song we felt was about us, we would find it very difficult to pick just one.Through music we can be transported back into our memories. Our senses can be blown. Someone once said that without music life would be a mistake and an eternal sorrow in a world full of misunderstood people. They say that music is the most direct form of art, it enters through the ears and goes directly to our hearts. Because love and music can’t see each other, but the feel and enjoy each other like nothing else can.Fill your life with music, pack the scenery with melodies and enjoy the pleasure of feeling the bumping rhythms invade you. Because what you feel thanks to music is not only the magic of being alive, but the freedom that surrounds you.

‘It is a day of universal brotherhood’- PM Modi on International Yoga Day, Mysuru celebrates Yoga indoors, on Terrace

International Yoga Day celebration at Mysuru Palace on Terrace.

Addressing the nation on Sunday 21 June 2020 PM Narendra Modi said this is the day of unity as yoga binds everyone together. “It is a day of universal brotherhood.”

“The theme of International Day of Yoga this year is ‘Yoga at home, Yoga with family’. Today, we will stay away from all social gatherings and do yoga with our family. When family members come together in practicing yoga, it spreads energy in the entire house,” said PM Modi.

“The world is taking the need to practice yoga more seriously in the wake of Covid-19. Yoga has many asanas (poses) to boost our immunity. These asanas strengthen our muscles and metabolism. Coronavirus attacks our respiratory system, and pranayama (breathing exercise) is the best exercise to keep ourselves safe,” the Prime Minister said, urging people to include pranayama in their daily routine.

“Yoga enhances our quest for a healthier planet. It does not discriminate, goes beyond color, race, faith, and nations. Anyone can embrace yoga – all you need is some time and space,” PM Modi said.

He ended the address with Sanskrit verse: Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu (may all beings be happy and free).

For the first time since June 21, 2015, Yoga Day is being celebrated digitally. This year’s theme is ‘Yoga at home and Yoga with family.’

On December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly had declared June 21 as ‘International Day of Yoga’, months after PM Modi had proposed the idea.

PM Modi had urged people, in a video message on Thursday, to observe the day from the confines of their homes due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Yoga celebration at Mysuru Palace

Due to the Pandemic outbreak, PM Narendra Modi could not attend the Yoga performance at Mysuru.

Still, the program was conducted at the palace premises under the aegis of the Yoga Federation of Mysuru with the representative from the local AYUSH department.

The program was live-streamed on Social media to encourage the public to perform yoga, where 24 Asanas were performed apart from Pranayama and Dhyana.

“Instead of the single venue outdoor mass yoga session, they can celebrate performing yoga at a time staying in their homes. We hope the people cooperate and support the initiative in the light of pandemic,” he said, in a video message.

At least one lakh people are expected to perform yoga from their homes to celebrate the occasion, he said.

Pratap Simha, Mysuru MP, in a video message, said people could do ‘asanas’ of their choice staying indoors. “We wanted to break the record held by yoga guru Baba Ramdev on the yoga day show this year in Mysuru by attracting a gargantuan crowd. But the pandemic stopped us from making it happen,” he recalled.

“We had sought permission from the Deputy Commissioner tp perform in front of the palace and live to stream the event on social media to popularise yoga. So, in terms of reach, if surpassed our earlier efforts’, said Ganesh Kumar, one of the yoga instructors conducting the event.

Those performing yoga on June 21 in their homes will get a certificate acknowledging their participation.

Summer vacation and Rasna

This year we are in the long vacation, Sunday lost its special power, every day is Sunday and we don’t have the excitement for summer vacation, but remember the time when we are in 4th or 5th grade we were too excited for summer vacation for playing in the park whole day, no school no routine and after coming from the playground ma used to make us RASNA, on that time it was felt like heaven, for the ’90s kid so many memory wrapped with Rasna.

Rasna is a soft drink concentrate brand, it’s an instant drink

Rasna is an Ahmedabad based company was launched in the mid-seventies but started gaining popularity in the eighties when the market was dominated by carbonated soft drinks like Thumbs up, limca. Rasna is very famous among during ’80-’90s. Parents didn’t allow us to drink soft drinks always, as it’s not a good habit to drink too many soft drinks, but RASNA also a drink but little different, it has many fruit flavors and we can make the drink by mix Rasna powder to the water so Rasna abled to create an image that it’s a healthy product that kid can enjoy, and tastes good and also it had reached the popularity for their attractive tag line and ad campaign. I remembered when I finished drinking Rasna I always said that “I love You Rasna”

Rasna is really Iconic Brand, that really a perfect example of good old days.

So, the best way to celebrate it, spend your time listening to great music both old and new sitting at home. STAY SAFE STAY HEALTHY……!!!!!

Common mistakes beginner made while learning coding

Some common mistake beginner programmer make that hold them back to become a good programmer.Firstly make one thing clear in your mind that by learning a programming language no one can become a coder until you start practicing it .It take a lot of patience and practice . It might take few setbacks , few trials to getting started but ultimately fire up your coding skills.I hope this blog helps you take your first step in coding journey.Let’s get started.

Never Sit back and take the action

There is no right time to get started .Start off immediately .I know you might feel bit nervous. It happened with me too.But sitting back and not taking action will definitely hold you back to start your journey .

And Eventually a question arises how to get started ?After learning a certain programming language you can’t master it until you start implementing it .The most important step is to take action . Start practicing on any any competitive sites like HackerRank ,Codechef .It’s okay if you come up with a straight forward approach (Brute force algorithm) it not be the best way to solve a question but eventually you can do better .Start thinking for a more feasible and optimal solution .Don’t hesitate to take help or read other programmers code .Don’t be in hurry to move onto next question.Clear your concept thoroughly and you would surely make a mistake along and that’s the next point to learn .

Never be afraid to make a mistake

You will eventually make mistakes along the way but rather to avoid it learn from the mistake .

Nobody will come with a best solution everyone start with worst but eventually lead to best.Everyone needs to debug their code it doesn’t passes all the cases including side case in one go.So don’t need to panic.

Even you will find yourself making foolish mistakes sometimes i.e missing semicolon ,out of bound.

There is a lot of stuff to learn .It’s more difficult than you think .More you came to know more you realize there is quite a lot to learn.

Come out of your comfort zone

Most beginners made this mistake .They stuck themselves in their comfort zone .And feel afraid to learn new stuff .They eventually end by solving easy question through they can’t improve yourself ,Start trying hard one which needs a lot of brainstorming .It will surely improve your skills.

Start building projects and participating in online contest

Best way to implement your knowledge or check is building up projects even a minor one or participating in online contest .Even one can take ideas from YouTube ,or any source .While building up your project you will learn a lot and even came to know why is it so important in programming to write a clean code ? and surely online contest are the best way to check your knowledge and prepare for interviews.

Sometimes it’s feel terrifying but it’s okay

When you entered the world of coding it start feeling scary as it is more complex than you think. It’s okay .Everyone has gone through that feeling. You will probably have those days when you start feeling that nothing is going the way as you think and it happens .Sometimes you will not able to solve questions. But nothing to be panic about .When you start understanding this world you will start living in it and then it will not feel scary to you.

In last i want to say that take your first step immediately and turned-on your coding skills.

Please let me know your thoughts in the comment below and have a wonderful day.
