The past is a permanent dimension of human consciousness and values

Never let the past overburden you, but always let it teach you

India, i. e. “Bharat” is the land of diversified cultures and values, beholding in herself the flavours of the longest epics such as “Mahabharata”,stories of valor of Maharana Pratap, struggle of the great social reforms of the 19th century, Rajaram Mohan Roy, Eshwar Chandra Vidyasaagar, Rani laxmi bai, Pandita Ramabai, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and many more great souls.

Human revolution is one of the most extraordinary phenomenons that took place on the earth. Beginning with inventions of fire and wheel by Humans, to the use of complex iron and copper tools and development of settled livelihood, humans are the most advanced creatures on the planet. But with this great advancement and the ambitions of humans which tend to never end, the most capable animal HUMAN turned wild, mean, consumerist, capitalist and above all self obsessed. The increased volume of practices such as, corruption, crony-capitalism, smuggling, theft, events of eve teasing, rape, sexual assaults etc. and etc. has let the whole human community down.

People have gone out of their senses in this hectic and fast growing world, racing for acquiring wealth and power. The question is, have all of these problems not existed prior 21st century!? The answers to this is that off course these kind of heinous crimes existed earlier as well but this is the power of humans to cope with these situations. History itself is the witness that even during the later Vedic period with emergence of Manusrimti, not only women but the so called lower casts or “shudras” and vaishyas also have to go through discrimination and ill treatment of the Brahaminical class. But people during those times got their ideals in enlightened figures – Gautam Buddha and Mahavira. The two acknowledged figures stood against such practices and showed the path of truth and non violence. Even Mahatma Gandhi during his lifetime took inspiration from these principles and values. These principles were largely about “human salvation, consciousness of mind and soul and humanity.

The epics of Ramayana, Mahabharata and the story of Jesus Christ, all revolve around great deeds of humanity, dharma, sacrifices etc. People around the world today worship one or the other forms of God, be it Hindu Gods and Goddesses, Jews worshiping Jesus or Muslims worshiping Mohammed Prophet. But do they really worship them for attaining peace and consciousness? Or just for the sake of their own well being and prosperity?! To worship should mean to follow their teachings of love, humanity, ethical values, dharma etc. These religious epics- Quran, Bible, Geeta are the richest sources of human values.

If we move a little forward in history and throw attention towards the great movements of medieval times around the world such as Sufi movement, Bhakti movement etc. we get the evidences of reforms in the original forks of worship, turning the society into more contemporary and realistic forms of profession of devotion towards god and mankind. These movements condemned all forms of cruelty towards humans as well as animals and taught the lesson of mysticism. These emphasized on direct connection with god or the good of everyone. The world today is heading towards India and looking upon it to be a path maker in the field of meditation and yoga, the practices which are a source of escape from the inhumane world into a world where it has patience, peace, love and satisfaction. These virtues has enabled the man to first think and then act.

There is no denial to the fact that past and especially 19th century has shown the world one of the most cruel phase of humanity. The practices of sati, untouchability, child marriage, bonded labour, mass killings of Jews (under Nazism), polygamy, Purdah system and many more were written in Black letters in the history. But all of this came to an end with the tireless efforts of such great human beings as Raja Ram Mohan Roy, who stick stick to his principles despite huge criticism from society and even family. It was his efforts which led to laws such as Abolition of Sati Act. Other great personality is Eshwar Chandra Vidyasaagar whose efforts brought in existence the law of widow Remarriage Act. Leaders like Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Jyotiba Phule, Mahatma Gandhi, their whole life advocated for abolition of untouchability. Female warriors of those times- Savitribai Phule, Sarojini Naidu, Mother Teresa were, are, and will always be inspiration for the world to strive for achieving equal status for women, poor, unprivileged. These great souls have taught us to work for human betterment, even without any personal gains.

Why can’t today the world look back for one and adopt these values and culture that we owned in the past. The incidents of cow slaughter and mob lynching are nothing but a slap on the face of teachings of Buddha, Mahavira and even ideals of Gandhiji. Abraham Lincoln one of the revolutionaries and a face of anti-black movement of America, fought with all his efforts against black racism in the U. S. A but the events of killing of black activists on the streets of U. S. A by officials is not something for which the nobel man had dream of. History is not just a source of knowledge of the past theories but is a treasure to look back at and learn to cope with the modern day problems destroying humanity and depriving the mankind and consciousness. It’s high time, the world should adopt the principle of Lord Mahavira

Live and let live.

Indian Scientists Create ‘Black Gold’ to Boost Solar Power, Make Seawater Potable!

Scientists at the Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) used gold nanoparticles and, by rearranging size and gaps between them, developed a new material which has unique properties like the capacity to absorb light and carbon dioxide.

one of the largest consumers of the precious metal globally. Now Indian scientists have tinkered with the chemistry of the material and turned it into ‘black gold’ which they say has the potential to be used for applications ranging from harvesting solar energy to desalinating seawater.

Scientists at the Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) rearranged the size and gaps between gold nanoparticles to develop a new material which has the unique properties of absorbing light and carbon dioxide. Gold does not have these properties. In appearance the new material is black, hence the name ‘black gold.

While speaking to India Science Wire, Vivek Polshettiwar, who led the research team, explained, “We have not doped gold nanoparticles with any other material or added other materials. We varied inter-particle distance between gold nanoparticles using a cycle-by-cycle growth approach by optimizing the nucleation-growth step, using dendritic fibrous nanosilica whose fibers were used as the deposition site for gold nanoparticles.”

One of the most fascinating properties of the new material is its ability to absorb the entire visible and near-infrared region of solar light. It does so because of inter-particle plasmonic coupling as well as heterogeneity in nanoparticle size. Black gold could also act as a catalyst and could convert carbon dioxide into methane at atmospheric pressure and temperature using solar energy.

“If we develop an artificial tree with leaves made out of black gold, it can perform artificial photosynthesis, capturing carbon dioxide and converting it into fuel and other useful chemicals,” added Prof Polshettiwar. The efficiency of conversion of carbon dioxide into fuel, at present, is low but researchers believe it could be improved in future.

In order to study the new material’s ability to harvest solar energy, researchers dispersed it into water and exposed the solution to light for one hour and the temperature of the solution was measured. The temperature of the solution, with pure silica spheres, rose to 38 degrees while the ones with different concentrations of black gold rose to 67 to 88 degrees. The maximum increase in temperature was attributed to creation of thermal hotspots due to the heterogeneity of the particle sizes as well as optimum inter- particle coupling.

Researchers said the material can be used as a nano-heater to covert seawater into potable water with good efficiency. “Our results indicate the potential application of black gold in purification of seawater to potable water via steam generation using solar energy under atmospheric reaction conditions.”

The research team included Mahak Dhiman, Ayan Maity, Anirban Das, Rajesh Belgamwar, Bhagyashree Chalke and Vivek Polshettiwar (TIFT); Yeonhee Lee, Kyunjong Sim and Jwa-Min Nam (Seoul National University).

The study was funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).

science behind Hindu rituals and traditions

Hindus have been following many traditions and rituals for centuries.
These rituals and traditions were considered as superstitious, but there is a science behind each ritual that we follow from morning to evening and on some special occasions.

Here, are some of the rituals and traditions and logic behind them-

Namaste

“Namaste” i.e. joining your hands together. It involves pressing the tips of the fingers of both the hands together. These are linked to pressure points in the eyes, ears, and mind, which activate the mind when we press them together so that we could remember the person for a long time.

secondly, by greeting in this manner we don’t come in contact with the person as we do in shaking hands, so it prevents the transfer of germs.

Sleeping direction-

It is said that while sleeping one’s head should not point in the direction of north. The science behind this said that our earth is a giant magnet it has its own magnet field like the human body.

when we point our head towards north direction then it becomes asymmetrical with the direction of the earth’s magnet field, in order to overcome this our body needs to work harder which can cause problems related to blood pressure.

Fasting

Fasting has many advantages like it regulates our body’s metabolic activity, boosts brain function, enhances heart health, hormonal balance, etc.

Bhagwat Gita path(chanting)-

Bhagwat Gita is a source of solutions to any of our life’s problem.

It gives the direction in the time of difficulty to a human being. “Karma is the ultimate truth.” Lord Krishna, gives direction for the welfare of the whole world in Bhagwat Gita.

In the battle of Mahabharat as a charioteer, He was a source of direction in the life of Arjuna.

Charan Sparsh (Touching feet)-

When we touch the feet of our elder ones or god. They are pious for us, we are free from ego, then their hearts emit positive energy, which reaches us through their toes or hands in the form of Ashirwad.

our brains nerves end at our hands when we touch the feet of our elder a circuit is completed and the positive energy reaches our mind.

Ear piercing-

Indian physicians and philosophers believe that piercing the ears helps in the development of intellect, power of thinking, and decision making faculties.

It also helps in speech restraint and ear channels also become free from disorders.

Eating food sitting on the ground-

When we sit on the ground while eating we sit in the “Sukh Asan” position in YOGA. It improves the digestion system.

Applying mehndi on hands and feet-

Mehndi is a medicinal herb, it is cold in nature. It keeps the body cool and releases stress.

Worshipping the “Peepal” tree-

“Peepal” is the only tree that gives oxygen in the night too. In order to save this tree Hindu worship Peepal tree.

Bells in the Hindu temple

When the bell rings it produces a sound which generates an echo lasts for at least 7 seconds, it unites the left and right portions of our brain, and activates all the seven healing centers in our body.

Bells of the Temple

Tilak on the forehead-

The point on the forehead, between the eyebrows, is the point of concentration and retains all the energy in the body.

From the ancient time, it is believed that the red kumkum in the form of tilak prevents the loss of energy from the body.

women wear toe ring

Toe rings are generally worn on the second toe. The nerve from the second toe connects with the uterus. Wearing it on the second toe strengthens uterus and keeps it healthy by maintaining blood pressure.

Worshipping “Tulsi” plant-

Tulsi is a natural herb it prevents the human body from many diseases. It prevents insects and mosquitoes to enter into the house.

Vedic sages called it sanjeevani and Goddess to take care of it.

Applying sindoor by married women-

Sindoor is prepared by mixing turmeric, lime, and the metal mercury. Due to its intrinsic properties, mercury controls blood pressure and activates sexual drive. Thus, sindoor should be applied right up to the pituitary gland, known as the master gland where all our feelings are centered.

Idol worshipping

Researchers believe that it was initiated for the purpose of increasing the concentration during the prayers and to gain positive energy.

Idol of Lord Radha Krishna

We are finding it difficult to manage our waste.

Who is responsible for clearing Capital's garbage mountains ...
A garbage mound in New Delhi

Mountains of waste being generated as a by-product of economic development is taking a serious toll on the environment. Because of rapid urbanization, the country is looking at massive waste management challenge. Nearly 400 million urban residents in living in 8000 towns and cities produce 62 million tons (MT) of solid waste annualy. Out of 62MT, only 42 MT is collected and even out of 43 MT, only 11.9MT is recycled or treated and rest goes to landfill sites or garbage mounds.

Uncontrolled dumping, is the major waste disposal method in India, and is also a major source of disease. In Mumbai, 12% of total solid waste is burned either openly on the streets or in landfills, a practice that releases black carbon, dioxins and carcinogenic furans.

A CSE survey data shows that 70-80 percent of India’s wastewater ends up in water bodies. No proper sanitation facilities, frequent, uncontrolled discharge of wastewater and industrial discharges are the major causes of water-borne diseases, especially in India’s densely populated slum areas and ghettoes. Findings show that out of 816 municipal sewage treatment plants (STPs) listed across India only 522 work. So out of 62000 million liters of Sewage generated, only 18,883 gets treated and the rest is discharged into the water bodies.

Sewage water pollution - refused directly into water basins
Sewage being discharged into water bodies

According to State of India’s Environment 2019 data, the country also recorded a 56 % increase in hazardous-waste generating industries between 2009 and 2017. These industries are also not complying with rules and regulation set by the authorities. A recent joint study by The Associated Chambers of Commerce of India (ASSOCHAM) says that that nearly 74.6 lakh tons of hazardous waste is generated in India.

The lack of infrastructure for scientific disposal and recycling of hazardous waste has caused severe environmental damage. There are only 17 disposal facilities in India with both secured landfills and modern scientific incinerators. States like Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab and Orissa do not have safety regulations and infrastructure to safely recycle and dispose hazardous waste. Workers who collect hazardous waste are exposed to its dangerous chemical nature, resulting in them contracting severe diseases. They do not have modern equipment, are poorly trained and not paid well.

‘True Cost of Sanitation’, a report of economic cost of sanitation released in 2015, stated that India lost near 106.7 Billion from its GDP. Poor sanitation has impacts on the society and the economy. It causes fatal diseases and also gives rise to related losses in productivity due to sickness and increased healthcare costs from caring for the sick.

Social Media: The perfect tool for Digital Marketing

As indicated by one Facebook report, there has been a 70% expansion in time spent on the application in Italy. A March 2020 study of U.S. conducted on online networking users discovered that 43.1%  would scroll through Instagram more whenever staying home while 63.7% and 62.3% used YouTube and Facebook, in comparison to the other websites, more.

Presently is a prime chance to develop business accounts by putting out valuable content that doesn’t focus on a hard sell. The objective should rather be to assemble an internet following through:

1) For example, how to extract productivity out of “work from home” and methods of reducing expenses on veggies.

2) Posting harious content of mockery, similar to funny clippings and memes.

3) Collaborating with an influencer. 63% of shoppers trust influencers more than brands and COVID-19 has allowed influencers over a wide scope of ventures to make their administrations accessible at a sensible cost.

With relatively little expense and exertion, an organization can understand results that keep on profiting them long after the situation improves.

GENERATING MARKETING SCHEMES OVER THE WEB

Online campaigns help to spread the word about their businesses and the new ways of functioning, with less amount of time and effort invested, than asking their regular set of customers to do so.

This can be achieved through Smart bidding like Google Ads, Content Marketing and Coupons designed from Easy Promo Or Woobox

CARRYING OUT DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS ONLINE

There are not many organisations can transition their day-to-day functioning using internet. However due to the availability of video conferencing facilities like Zoom and Google Meet, there can still be interactions between the customers and the buyers.

Orders of groceries and other essentials can be taken online, education through schools and Institutions is being provided online and live tutorials and sessions are being conducted in which clients are asked to make the payments online. There are several other courses available on digital marketing too  which can be availed to enhance the speed of the working staff and enable them to make the most out of the present situation.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

Numerous organizations are curtailing their showcasing endeavors due to COVID-19, however what they should do is multiply while making the most of the new open doors that are springing up.

This accentuation on digital marketing isn’t something that they’ll need to back off on once the lockdown is over. Internet shopping won’t stop at any point in the near future, and most organizations will find that online associations are more helpful than in-person interactions.

While it might be viewed right now as an alternate course of action, when the pandemic is over, everybody will probably understand that it’s much more than that.

On the off chance that a very much upgraded site, all around arranged advertising devices, and selection of virtual interchanges can get an organization through one of the most exceedingly terrible crises in present day times, for what reason can’t digital-based promoting make its all intents and purposes relentless?

Is Incognito Mode Actually Safe?

Google , the tech giant have been accused of gathering data from user’s incognito mode without their permission. A lawsuit of $5 billion  have been filed in  the US District for Northern  district of California. The lawsuit has been filed by Mark C.mao, on behalf of three people based in Los Angeles, Chason Brown, Williams Byatt and Maria Nguyen. According to them , no matter what safety measures consumers take to protect the data privacy, Google still tracks and stores the data of consumer browsing history.

It’s not the first time that lawsuits have been filed against Google, but  this lawsuit dismisses the Federal Wiretap  Act(FWA).According to FWA, user’s are grant the right to sue if their private conversations  are either rapped or intercepted. It restricts the interception of content  which could be any electronic communication , wire or oral  .Under the FWA and California Privacy Act, $5000 is to be granted to each and every individual as a monetary compensation for violation of their privacy.. The user’s have the right to know about what all data is saved ,and what is not.

Let’s Understand the Incognito Mode?

Incognito mode is basically  making  you undercover, by not showing  the websites you’ve searched. Probably, for most of  us believe it’s the best preventive measure to  take. It’s been designed in a manner to remove local data, so that cookies could be either blocked or deleted, and the temporary files could be disabled. According to reports , if someone is using a Windows computer, the browsing history could be found in the computer data. It’s been said that not only the employees, but also the our Internet Service Providers(ISP) could view our browsing history as per their convenience. Incognito mode offers the false impression that the users have retained control about their browsing history.

The complaint argues that Google has been able to track users through Google Analytics ,Google Ad Manager and many more. The complaint talked about the practice of “Intentionally deceiving customers” , by maintaining full control of the customer’s browsing data, and even encouraging them to use and surf , by making them dream of their secured privacy.

Google in their defence to this lawsuit disagreed to this complaint .Jose Castaneda, their spokesperson talked about how the Incognito mode in Chrome gives the right to user’s to not save their data to the website, but added that each time we surf a website, the website might be able to get hold of the browsing information. However, it’s been mentioned in the Chrome help page that the Incognito doesn’t prevent location and action from being watched by the website. It’s been claimed that around 70 % of the users use Incognito mode, through this the Google receives the information like the user’s IP address , what user is viewing , details about what  they watched  and even details about the user’s hardware.

Two years back, researcher from Tennessee had come to the conclusion that the incognito data is collected with user-anonymous identifiers. Google has the ability to link the information with user identified credentials stored in the user’s Google Account.

The Smart Boom

A world without smartphones is a modern Shakespearean tragedy! It a gift by mankind to mankind to enable its smooth functioning. It has allowed the evolution of humans to take place on a technological scale, to equip them with the entire world at their fingertips. A smartphone is a powerful tool and its true purpose of design can be fully utilised only if one bends it to serve their purpose and extract its potential to fruition.

The smartphone has made our lives easier. Our alarming dependence on the smartphone goes to show how vital it has come become to our daily sustenance. From entertainment to information, the small electronic device has become a vital tool and an extension of ourselves. Though the smartphone has led to several problems like headaches, distractions and short attention span, there can be no denying the multiple uses of the device that has made our lives easier and better.

From switching off our electric devices remotely to researching on a topic and completing an assignment, the smartphone has revolutionised our way of life. From binge-watching Netflix to watching a documentary on youtube, the smartphone has kept us entertained in the comfort of our homes in this Corona pandemic. From working from home to doing an internship online, the smartphone has bridged the gap between the office and the home.

The smartphone allows the user to connect to others from different corners of the globe through video calls using applications like Duo, Zoom, Teamlink etc. People can see their loved one’s thousand of miles away in an instant through the smartphone screen. The smartphone has made the once seemingly impossible now a reality. The smartphone has allowed students to attend classes on a regular basis and stay updated with their class lessons. It has allowed people to stay safe whilst still earning from home. It has allowed people to stay connected to each other and allowed patients to consult with doctors online.

It has allowed candidates to submit job applications on various portals like Naukri.com, Indeed.com, Shine.com etc from the comfort of their homes without the unnecessary hassle of travelling to various offices to submit their CV. It has allowed customers to shop daily essential items on various applications, order cooked food online and shop for garments online too. The smartphone has necessitated and helped in the smooth transition from buying from brick and mortar stores to online stores.

Businesses can reach out to customers easily because customers have access to affordable smart devices. It has led to the boom of the capital markets, the startup culture and the various online courses. However, all things can be used to a negative effect. This can be explicated in the manner in which hackers hack the smartphones and can access easily available private data of users and blackmail and extort them. The amount of readily made sensitive data inputted by the users makes the users vulnerable to hackers. Like everything, even the smartphone should be used sensibly and in moderation so as to avoid any such unpleasant experience.

time management

Success or failure which can only be defined through time because it is non-refundable. A good management of time brings success but if it is used without intentions than its a failure. Time is most important for an individual life’s. It is important for study of religion, science, and philosophy. Balancing all the works, side hustle, socializing, or etc. are being under a good time management. To big businessman to school children it is a part of life and need to be managed well.

A world full of many personalities or a day-to-day busy schedule no one will teach you how to manage your time. You are only responsible for managing your time. Once you start managing your time than you started liking it or even dealing up with your stress. Time is a created thing. If you can have time, you can have a good management in your life. Many people thinks they are not to do it or they are not worth for it but are they really worthless? No they are not because its seems impossible but once you done it by managing your time then its done. Time is the only thing that people wants the most but also it is the only thing that people use it as worst. Being busy is not time management but being productive is what a good time management. Time is the only advantage which a person can have it whenever they want. Nothing is tomorrow and yesterday has gone so we have today so begin with today itself.

Using time is an important aspect for understanding human behavior, education and travel behavior. For a good time management it needs good skills as:

  1. A proper planning which helps in achieving our goals.
  2. Prioritizing what is most important and what is not.
  3. Setting your goal or setting up your dreams.
  4. A good decision will give you a better life.
  5. Focusing on what you want and how you can achieve it.
  6. Making yourself aware about everything you need for a proper time management.
  7. Self-motivating another skill for a good time.
  8. Dealing with your stress.
  9. Organizing things properly.

The above points are common with only one thing that is Time. That’s why its important to managed it properly.

There are two type of people- dreamers and planners. Dreamers will dream only but planners will make their dream come true. And that’s how one can manage their time. Just thinking about managing your time is not enough. You should plan for it properly. One need to decide for how they can properly manage their time or waste time on thinking how they can get more time. So their is neither tomorrow nor yesterday, it is today and this is what Time tells us.

“The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.”– Stephen Covey

SONU SOOD :- MESSIAH FOR MIGRANT WORKERS

undefined

Sonu Sood a well known actor who is usually known for playing the role of villain in his films is now being haled as a superhero for all the relief work he is doing voluntarily for migrant workers. The villain from famous movie Dabangg has now turned up into a ‘Messiah’. Yes, Messiah for those migrant workers who are worst affected due to this Covid – 19 induced lockdown. These migrant workers had lost their jobs, all their savings had exhausted and had no food to eat. They were depressed and hopeless so the only option left with them was to walk 1000 Kms to reach their native places. In such a hopeless situation Sonu Sood volunteered to help 1000’s of migrant workers in Mumbai return their homes.

How Sonu helped Migrant Workers?

Sonu started his relief work for the first time in March with his childhood friend Niti Goel. They firstly distributed 500 packets of cooked meals and groceries to migrant workers. Then soon he got to know that migrants were leaving Mumbai. He saw migrants walking on highway, risking their lives to reach their homes. He then decided someone should come forward and do something. In an interview he quoted ‘Migrant workers have helped build our houses, roads and offices. We cannot stand and watch them homeless. These are important people of our country’.

He spoke to a lot of people from ground to top level got all permissions, be it from police or medical department. After all the required paperwork he arranged first batch of10 buses for 350 migrant workers to help them reach their homes in Karnataka. He then helped nearly 160 migrant women workers of Odisha by arranging a chartered flight for them and paying for flight tickets. They had to go Bhubaneshwar from Kochi.

This did not ended here. The whole wave started when people from different states started approaching him in large numbers and they would cry. His cell phone was flooded with calls and messages. He with the help of his team even launched a helpline number so that people could easily contact him. He till now has sent 20000 workers to their hometown in different states in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Rajasthan by arranging buses, trains and flights. His team each day is also providing food and water to at least 45000 workers. He has even given the rooms of his personal hotel in Mumbai to the doctors who were examining these migrant workers. Really, he in true sense is a Messiah for all of us. Hats off to this man for his honest and pure efforts.

What motivated him help Migrant Workers?

When asked in an interview by various news channels why he helped the workers he only said that it was out of love and he strongly feels about them. He said that he came to Mumbai as a migrant. One day he boarded a train and landed up here. As a migrant he has seen the worst times in his initial days when he had to sleep between two coaches in front of toilets. With very little money and huge dreams in his eyes it was very difficult for him to survive in a city like Mumbai. His own journey and struggle motivated him to help the migrant workers. He said that he will not stop here. ‘He will work till the last migrant reaches home. No one should be rendered homeless’.

His philanthropic work needs to be applauded. More importantly credits should be given to his parents Shakti and Saroj Sood for inspiring him in his humanitarian efforts. We should learn the true meaning of humanity from this person. At our individual level we should do something to help people like cooking an extra meal for someone, giving some clean space to live to our maids or may be watchman. Thus ensuring that noone in our country sleeps hungry or stays homeless.
