The Art of Doing Nothing

In this world of constant commotion, pressure of being productive and being busy is valued highly. Working long hours, being on the grind is what takes you forward in life and makes you successful. While there is truth and value to be found in working hard and consistently, it shouldn’t come at a cost of other things that increase the value of your life .

I first encountered the phrase ‘Dolce Far Niente’ in the movie ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ starring Julia Roberts. The Italian phrase means ‘the sweetness of doing nothing’ and the concept of finding pleasure from not doing anything is quite interesting.
