Teflon is toxic

Teflon and health

Teflon-coated cookware is the ultimate in cookware convenience. It keeps food from sticking to the pan, allows the diet conscious to use less fat while cooking, and makes washing up easier. Teflon, known chemically as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), is a plastic-like substance made up of a complex mixture of perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs). All good non-stick coatings intended for use in cooking are made with PTFE. The difference between brands lies in the proportion in which PTFE is blended with other materials.

Teflon is composed of several toxic chemicals that can be released from heated pans into the air and into food. The more often you use your pans at high temperatures, the quicker the coating will break down and emit tiny particles and gases into the air. As this happens (usually within about two years of continual use), washing Teflon-coated pans by hand or in a dishwasher with harsh detergents may accelerate the process further.

The chemicals emitted by Teflon are harmful to humans and deadly, even in minute amounts, to pet birds. Even if you’ve never used a Teflon-coated pan, there’s a good chance that you are carrying some of Teflon’s breakdown products in your body because the substance has a wide range of uses outside the home. PFCs have been shown to accumulate in human organs like the liver, gall bladder and thyroid gland. In other primates, exposure to one of Teflon’s breakdown products, PFOA, has led to hypothyroidism (the condition of having an underactive thyroid). This effect is also apparent in human studies. A prolonged state of hypothyroidism is a risk for obesity, insulin resistance and thyroid cancer.

Teflon may reduce the amount of fat we cook with, make washing up easier and clothes and carpets last longer; but it is a frivolous and unnecessary substance the benefits of which pale beside the possibility of killing beloved pets and raising your risk of heart disease, diabetes, birth defects and cancer.

“Truth – A powerful weapon.”

Truth is really the most powerful weapon that can protect you from all the problems in your life and help you to become successful. If you start making use of this weapon in your daily regimen you can conquer all the battles of your life. Hence, you shall try to be honest, as it has got many benefits. I have listed down a few of them:

● When you start speaking the truth, you start gaining the trust of your friends and family members. They start believing you and start trusting you for their work. Being honest at your workplace can help you to acquire the faith of your colleagues. This can help you to move ahead in your professional work and be successful. Along with trust and faith, speaking truth can help you to gain respect from people.

● When you have the habit of telling lies, you have to remember the lie that you have told, so as to put up your side in the future. You constantly have the fear of getting caught someday for the lies you told. But, by being honest and truthful, you don’t have to fear anyone or hide anything. You feel confident about yourself. You feel proud that you are not cheating or betraying someone by telling lies. You feel peaceful by being honest, as you are not forgetting your values of life and maintaining your dignity.

● Honesty is the base for any professional as well as a personal relationship. This is because honesty protects your relationship from all the odds and also maintains its strength even during tough times. Being truthful will help you to develop a strong and healthy connection with your loved ones.  You are able to express your thoughts freely without any hesitation and this encourages other people to believe in you. This helps to strengthen your relationships with people.

● When you are honest in your life, people come up to you for seeking advice and opinions, as they know that you will keep your opinion without being fake and with complete honesty. They feel safe while talking to you about their issues. People love to hear your opinion as they know about your honesty and believe you completely.

● Sometimes we want to remain in someone’s good books and want to keep good connections with people. But in this process, we stop ourselves from speaking the truth, just for not hurting anyone or insulting them. But, this behaviour prevents you from growing as a person. By not being manipulative and by being honest regarding your opinions about certain things and some people, you can help to bring a positive change.

We can thus see that being honest in your life has many advantages. It can make your life much easier and happier. Also, it is very easy to practice truthfulness in your life. Hence, we shall focus on being honest and speaking the truth so as to bring positive changes in our lives as well as others.

WATER POLLUTION

Introduction:Water is the essential element that makes life
on earth possible. Without water there would be no life. We
usually take water for granted. It flows from our taps when
they are turned on. Most of us are able to bathe when we
want to, swim when we choose and water our gardens. Like
good health we ignore water when we have it.
Although 71% of the earth’s surface is covered by water only
a tiny fraction of this water is available to us as fresh water.
About 97% of the total water available on earth is found in
oceans and is too salty for drinking or irrigation. The
remaining 3% is fresh water. Of this 2.997% is locked in ice
caps or glaciers. Thus only 0.003% of the earth’ total volume
of water is easily available to us as soil moisture,
groundwater, water vapour and water in lakes, streams,
rivers and wetlands.
In short if the world’s water supply were only 100 litres our
usable supply of fresh water would be only about 0.003 litres
(one-half teaspoon). This makes water a very precious
resource. The future wars in our world may well be fought
over water. By the middle of this century, almost twice as
many people will be trying to share the same amount of fresh
water the earth has today. As freshwater becomes more
scarce access to water resources will be a major factor in
determining the economic growth of several countries
around the world.

WATER AVAILABILITY ON PLANET

Water that is found in streams, rivers, lakes, wetlands and
artificial reservoirs is called surface water. Water that
percolates into the ground and fills the pores in soil and rock
is called groundwater. Porous water-saturated layers of sand,
gravel or bedrock through which ground water flows are
called aquifers. Most aquifers are replenished naturally by
rainfall that percolates downward through the soil and rock.
This process is called natural recharge. If the withdrawal rate
of an aquifer exceeds its natural recharge rate, the water
table is lowered. Any pollutant that is discharged onto the
land above is also pulled into the aquifer and pollutes the
groundwater resulting in polluted water in the nearby wells.
India receives most of her rainfall during the months of June
to September due to the seasonal winds and the
temperature differences between the land and the sea.
These winds blow from the opposite directions in the
different seasons. They blow into India from the surrounding
oceans during the summer season and blow out from the
subcontinent to the oceans during the winter. The monsoon
in India is usually reasonably stable but varies geographically.
In some years the commencement of the rains may be
delayed considerably over the entire country or a part of it.
The rains may also terminate earlier than usual. They may be
heavier than usual over one part than over another. All these
may cause local floods or drought. However in India even areas that receive adequate rainfall during the monsoon
suffer from water shortages in the post monsoon period due
to lack of storage facilities.
When the quality or composition of water changes directly or
indirectly as a result of man’s activities such that it becomes
unfit for any purpose it is said to be polluted.

Doctor’s Day

Doctor’s day is observed on various days across the world. It is marked to tribute to the physicians and their contributions to the society. In India doctor’s day is celebrated on 1st July in honor of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy’s birth and death anniversary. Dr. Roy was a renowned physician who was awarded as the Bharat Ratna awardee. He was also a freedom fighter and former chief minister of the state of West Bengal. The first ever doctor’s day in India was celebrated in 1991. Free medical check-up are being organized by the healthcare organizations to promote medical services free of cost among the public.

“Moon Landing And It’s Associated Key Discoveries”

Humans have been bringing advancement and progress in their way of living their lives with the help of science and Technology. Working in the phase turning ideas and dreams into reality have brought the confidence within them, enabling them to tackle difficult barriers and errors easily. These technologies and gadgets we use have helped the life of humans more comfortable and provided the ease of doing work. These have been in action and got pace after the industrial revolution and since then no turning back. With the help of these humans have made machines, automotives, rockets, buildings and many more to solve the curiosity running all through their mind. The biggest curiosity which has fascinated humans and still does is space. Space has always been u known to us and we get attracted to this fact

The race to space which did start with the fight to win it between the top countries of Soviet Union and the US did result in possibilities of understanding space as soon as humans landed on the moon. The fight turned into a pace of learning and solving many curiosities related to it. The theory of formation of space is well known and we do call it the Big Bang Theory but the theory of formation of the moon was still hidden. There were many theories which suggested that it may have come floating in space from other place. The other suggested that the moon was a part of earth interior and earth spin at high speed which did throw it away in space and various other theories. Scientists wanted a theory or reality which they can believe upon. The Apollo mission helped in it. The first landing on moon, and astronauts walk created history. But as soon as they were returning back, they collected the sample of the surface of the moon, which changed everything. The sample was collected by Neil Armstrong as they saw they had some space in their shuttle to keep it. When they came back, the regolith was sent for analysis to understand what the moon surface is made off and what are the elements which may be present out there. Surprisingly they saw some white rock like particles which looked and scientists supposed it to be Anorthosite. It was something strange but also a great deal at that time as it could help us solve the theory of formation of the moon

Regolith is the moon soil which Neil Armstrong brought back on our earth. The curiosity of scientists increased as it was so fine that they were amazed to see such small particles of it. We know that the moon doesn’t have an atmosphere like earth, thus it doesn’t break any asteroid or meteoroid coming in it. This has happened for billion of years and thus created the sandy stuff on its  upper layer. So while examining it, they found many white particles which looked like Anorthosite. The fact about anorthosite is that it’s an igneous rock which means it’s a magmatic rock formed through cooling and solidification of magma. Anorthosite is lighter and less denser than various other things in magma. This suggests that the crust or the outer part of the moon is covered with anorthosite, which suggests that the moon was covered with magma all over.

So the big question which arose was how could the moon have magma inside it? Later scientists brought a Giant impact hypothesis, which is widely accepted around the globe. According to these hypotheses, earth got smashed by a big size object or may be plants, which initiated or threw the melted clouds of this magma and particles outside which formed debris like that of Saturn rings, which got collected and that formed into our moon. This might have happened billions of years ago when our earth was newly born and was hot. These rocks are guessed to be the oldest rocks since the times of formation of our earth and later moon.

Landing on the moon brought humans close to the less known facts of the moon and also its creation. It not only helps us to know the presence of other essential components and rocks such as oxygen, silicon, magnesium, iron and many more. These space expeditions have helped humans to solve few of space mysteries and many more are in the run to be solved with frequent trips to space, various research and developments in this field and new ideas to reach more of other planets and get deep into secrets of space, increase more of our fascination towards various space phenomenon and thus open another phase of possibilities and opportunities for humans .

Downloads of 15 Miliion within 36 hours of banning of Chinese app- ShareChat says

After the government ban, 59 Chinese apps in India including the Tiktok app the Indian social media apps are gearing up.

ShareChat has recorded the downloads of 15 million within 36 hours of banning of Chinese apps in India. Hence ShareChat has become the largest Indian social media platform with 60 million monthly active monthly users.

Berges Malu, director of public policy at ShareChat states that while the platform is well poised to make the most of the opportunity that has opened up, the growth in terms of new users will be a gradual affair. He says, “It’s not an instant process – anyone that uses an app like TikTok is likely already using other social media platforms too, such as ShareChat itself. Hence, the overall growth of users will likely reflect over the coming weeks, once the network-level bans are imposed on these apps.”

ShareChat on Wednesday said it has clocked 15 million downloads within 36 hours of the announcement banning Chinese apps in India. The social media app was downloaded at a rate of 5 lakh per hour while the new users flooded the platform with over 1 lakh posts supportive of the government’s decision.

ShareChat is an Indian company founded by three IIT Kanpur graduates in 2015. It has prioritised communication in local languages, which includes posts, hashtags, creative banners, and posters. With the ban now effective in India, India’s internet population is moving to other options, which, at hand, are the Indian counterparts. ShareChat, an alternative to social media and content-creation platforms, has said the content on its platform is shared on WhatsApp over 1 billion times a month and that its users spend over 25 minutes daily on the app. It has over 160 million users now and 60 million monthly active users.

“We are excited to see the way people are exploring ShareChat for the endless possibilities it offers to the people and making it the preferred Indian social media platform,” said Farid Ahsan, COO, and Co-founder of ShareChat. “We are thankful for their continuous support and yet again, enabling us to emerge as the leader in the Indian social media landscape. We are confident that this sets up the foundation of another success for ShareChat.”

ShareChat’s Malu states that the ban is going to be more effective in the long run. “Bans like these create a void in the market, where there is a demand for a service. In such a space, there is already an existing user base, which in turn leads to investors getting attracted. This can certainly boost the Indian startup ecosystem in this space, and is something that may see stronger growth of homegrown services than before,” he adds.

ShareChat is a rival of the Chinese app TikTok which is banned in India now. Along with ShareChat, there are other apps like Chingari, Roposo and Mitron are also flourishing as the Indian public is more aware of the benefits of using the homegrown apps.

Biswatma Nayak, the co-founder of Chingari, stated in a report that subscriber count has spiked by 400 percent within the past few days in light of the anti-China sentiment. Sumit Ghosh, co-founder and head of product and growth at Chingari, has claimed that the app received 1 lakh downloads within 1 first hour.

Mayank Bhangadia, the founder of Roposo, also says “I am seeing the highest surge in user traffic that Roposo has seen to date. All things considered, I expect to see up to 10 million new users join Roposo today itself.”

Upon the road of my life🖤

Upon the road of my life ✨

by Stephen Crane😇

Upon the road of my life,Passed me many fair creatures,Clothed all in white, and radiant. To one, finally, I made speech:”Who art thou?”But she, like the others,Kept cowled her face,And answered in haste, anxiously,”I am good deed, forsooth; You have often seen me.””Not uncowled,” I made reply. And with rash and strong hand,Though she resisted,I drew away the veilAnd gazed at the features of vanity. She, shamefaced, went on;And after I had mused a time,I said of myself,”Fool!”

Corona virus- a danger to the society. By Debalina Mukherjee.

Corona Virus disease is an infectious disease that is caused by a newly discovered virus called novel corona virus. It is an acute infectious respiratory disease. Most of the people who get infected develop mid symptoms withing 14 days and older people having underlying diseases like blood pressure, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease like asthma, cancer, cardio vascular problems become seriously ill. In many cases ventilation is required for severly affected people. Sadly there is no specific medication or vaccine to treat this disease. Symptoms may differ from person to person.
Common symptoms include fever, dry cough and tiredness. Less common symptoms include aches and pains, sore throat, diarrhoea, conjunctivitis, headache, loss of taste or smell,a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes. Serious symptoms include difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain or pressure, loss of speech or movement. The viris is transfered from the infected to someone theough droplets when the parient caughs, sneezes or talks. It t may also transfer if a normal person touches the surface having the virus. ‘Prevention is better than cure’ goes an old saying. So in order to protect oneself one hust wash hands with soap for atleast 20 seconds or use an alcohol based sanitizer frequently. Avoiding close contact and mass gatherings and wearing masks are best option now.Doctors are advicing not to touch mouth and nose unnecessarily.
Researchers and health experts are saying that novel corona virus has originated in pangolins and bats. The first infected was found in Wuhan, China. And after that it started spreading rapidly. Around 80%of people get cured with proper treatment and it is not as dangerous as cancer but it might kill people who are immunocompromised.Parients with mild symptoms can recover within two to three weeks but those who show severe symptoms may take more than six weeks to recover. On March 11 World Health Organization declared COVID 19 a pandamic. It has spread to more that 170 countries. It has affected the countries economically as well. The world economy has gone down and current the whole world is suffering loss in different spheres. Continuous research work is going on for discovering vaccines. Many developed countries are trying their best fo cope up with the situation.Globally 3,705,907 confirmed cases have been reported out of which 256,651 people have died. In India, the mortality rate is 3.42% approx. Till 31 st of March there were twelve countries who had no corona positive case. 7 countries from Africa and five countries from Asia.Corona virus has not spread in Europe, South America, and North America..African countries like South Sudan, Comoros, Malawi, Botswana, Burundi, Sierra Leone, and Sao Tome and Principe had no positive cases. Among the Asian countries, no cases were found in North Korea, Myanmar, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Yemen. Among all the negatives the only hope is that Bharat BioTech’s COVAXIN gets ready for clinical trials.Bharat BioteBiotech has said that the vaccine is safe and can be used. Not only India but the whole world is having an eye on the vaccine.

Salute to the soldiers.

During this lockdown the more of the suffering is to the Indian army..both mentally and physically!! Serving at the border even in this crucial crisis.., The risk of their life at the border as well mingling with the people in this horrific circumstances as the cases are growing rapidly. Indian army has always lended help whenever and whereever needed whether it be natural disaster or manly disasters, they are suppose to help as its their duty as well as responsibility being a soldier. Serving to the nation and for the nation even after knowing that the next second they will be alive or not..! The risk of that is always on the peak as they don’t know when the uncertainties may arise and they would lose ending up their lives. I know, death is uncertain for everyone…we don’t know what may happen to us the immediate second but the difference is that they know, there life is at highest risk and any second the bullet may hit them! From surving in the hottest temperatures to the coldest and risking their life’s for those whom they don’t even know but as a responsible Indian soldier and citizen of the nation they risk their lives. In the other countries..their army and the soldiers are treated with the respect and are disciplined towards them, but here in India they didn’t get recognition for what they did.., they didn’t get any respect and despite of that they get disrespected as the shameless citizens starts pelting stones on them!! The so called stars of Bollywood are called the heroes but these heroic gestures aren’t even taken into consideration. Even the current situation shows how the nation addresses the reel hero and the real heroes. The reel heroes should be addressed as star or just actors as they didn’t risk their lives and except for few who donated and served nation others didn’t even get affected by what is happening out of their artificial world. Talking about Sushant Singh Rajput, to be honest he was genuinely a true gentleman and humble natured person..I am sorry to take this topic..I am not at all disrespecting Sushant singh rajput..instead even I am deeply saddened by his sudden demise and is in utter shock while I heard this news but at the very next evening we were reported with the death of 20 martyrs of indian army. We just mourned for a day and then finished..yes finished, no one talked about it lateron. And till today their is hype all over for Sushant Singh Rajput…(Even for him the justice has to be surved as the sources are coming it to be as the planned murder and not suicide and people are demanding for CBI justification and it has to be done!! Sorryfor including this topic as it has to be heard). With this don’t conclude that I am against people who are worried about SSR’s death but I am comparing so as to how the people are treated here. There will be security all over for actors but there is no place for a soldier while they are travelling in the trains and are made sit on the floors. This has been so far we didn’t recognised the true heroes..I request you to show some respect and help them whenever they need as our small help is nothing when compared to theirs. I hope we start reapecting those who truly deserved and stop faking respect to the undeserving stars.

Thank you!

The pride Month

Recently, people suddenly came up with the posts on social media, using the hashtags, pride, or pride month, and etc. But, many of us may be wondering with many questions stuck to our minds, why? What is it? Where? When? How?

Although, there is a huge mass of people vocal about such a topic as this, but many still feel bad, or to say embraced in thinking about every aspect of a human being’s physique, which is a great reason to worry. It is not what we expect from the generation of sciences and revolutions, they must be vocal for the issues that are prevailing in the current society, and are making people in their surroundings and even themselves, mentally distressed, which is even worse than any physical tensions.

What is the pride ?

Gay pride or LGBT pride is the promotion of self affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people as a social group. Pride, as opposed to shame and social stigma, is the predominant outlook that blosters most LGBT rights movements.

It is not a recent phenomenon that we are experience through, but has a long history that commemorates a turning point in a country’s LGBT history, for example Moscow Pride in May for the anniversary of Russia’s 1993 decriminalization of homosexuality.

The common symbol of pride are the rainbow or pride flag, the lowercase Greek letter lambda, the pink triangle, and the black triangle.

The history of Pride Month –

LGBT Pride Month occurs in United States to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969.As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBT people had in the world.

It is because of the struggles of a Bisexual activist Brenda Howard, who is also known as The Mother of Pride, coordinated the first LGBT pride march, and she also originated the idea for a week-long series of events around Pride Day, which then become the genesis of the annual LGBT Pride celebrations that are now held around the world every June. Not only Brenda, the two Presidents of the United States have officially declared a pride month. And Barack Obama even said

I call upon all Americans to observe this month by fighting prejudice and discrimination in their own lives and everywhere it exists. –

Proclamation 8529 by U. S President Barack Obama, May 28,2010

Although, from both outside and inside the LGBT community, there is criticism and protest against pride events. The “Straight Pride” incidents have gained some media attention, especially when they involve government and public institutions.

Pride Month 2020 –

2020 has been a year that has seen several changes happening around all over the world. And celebrating Pride Month, is one such event that has brought a great revolution around the world, people are more attentive towards what one feel, or what a person has to say about their sexuality, neglecting the orthodoxy of the past.

As well as being a month long celebration, Pride Month is also an opportunity to peacefully protest and raise political awareness of current issue facing the community. Parades are the prominent feature of Pride Month, and there are many street parties, community events, public speaking, street festivals and educational sessions all of which are covered by mainstream media and attracting millions of participants. The digital concert which was conducted recently, by the world’s best musicians and activists, is a significant step towards promoting pride and accepting every human being generously and with great respect.

Since, we have jumped into a generation of broad spectrum, where each and every human being has the right to be the way they are. It is definitely a great time to start talking over such issues that hold people behind, and make them feel comfortable and respected in every manner.
