MOTIVATION IN MANAGEMENT

The term motivation is derived from the word motive and motives are expressions of a person’s needs and hence they are personal and internal and in this context, the term need should not be associated with urgency or nay pressing desire for something and it simply means something within an individual that prompts him to action and motives or needs are ‘whys’ of behaviour and they start and maintain activity and determine the general direction of the person and motives give direction to human behaviour because they are directed towards certain goals which may be conscious or sub-conscious. Motives are directed towards the achievement of certain goals which in turn determine the behaviour of individuals and this behaviour ultimately leads to goal-directed activities such as preparing food and a goal activity such as eating food and in other words, unsatisfying needs result in tension with an individual and engage him in search of the way to relieve this tension.

INTERRELATED TERMS

While discussing motivation, we need to understand three interrelated terms- Motive, Motivation, and Motivators.

1. Motive- A motive is an inner state or desire which energies an individual to move o to behave towards the achievement of goal and motive arises out of needs of an individual and it causes restlessness as he wants to fulfil his motive.

2. Motivation- It is a process of inducing people to perform to their best ability to accomplish a goal and it is a psychological phenomenon which arises from the feeling of needs and wants of individuals and it causes a goal-directed behaviour.

3. Motivators- Motivators are the incentives or techniques used to motivate the people in an organization and common motivators used by the mangers are increment, bonus, promotion, recognition, respect etc.

Motivations may be defined as the complex of forces inspiring a person at work to intensify his willingness to use his maximum capability for the achievement of certain objectives. According to Koontz and O’Donnell “ Motivation is a general term applying to the entire class of drivers, desires, needs, wishes and similar forces and to say that managers motivate their subordinates is to say that they do those things which they hope will satisfy drives and desires and induce the subordinates to act in the desired manner”

“NEVER STOP LEARNING BECAUSE LIFE WILL NEVER STOP TEACHING”

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving” – Albert Einstein

It is rightly said never stop learning….because life is the teacher which gives you the opportunity to learn new things each and every day. It motivates you to learn and defeat the challenges which we come across. The greatest teacher you could ever have is your life. Knowledge can come from anywhere and everywhere.

Life gives you the best lessons from sacrifice to compromise, and a wise man will always take each of them seriously.
All we need is to grab it and inculcate that in our day-to-day lives. Many times, you may feel down but remember that it’s not the ending. Failures will force you to loosen down but Losers are the ones who refuse to stand up, not the ones who fall down repeatedly.

No matter how many times you find yourself lost or broken; all that matters is the time when you didn’t feel like starting things all over again. One must always hold an attitude to continue learning new things.
Learning is a never-ending journey. From birth till death , we are in continuous cycle of learning new things. It is a necessary part of our life.By observing new things and experiencing it in our lives, our sight of perspective broadens and changes the way we see the world. It improves our behavior and the way we think by expanding and challenging our understanding. We get to know a lot of things and these things become our memories which are lessons to the life. These memories could be good or bad, that doesn’t mean bad memories are to neglected. Each and every memory gives you a lesson to learn something new experiences. Our education system teaches a lot, but that is relevant fir bookish knowledge. Life teaches you the lesson to live .

“The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it” – Walt Disney

Never think that you know so much that doesn’t mean the end of your learning procedure. No one is prefect in knowledge Each one of us learn step by step through life. It is a continuous and when life teaches you something, be an optimist to learn it as quickly as possible. Life will keep on teaching you every moment of the day, and a real hero is the one who remains open to changes or take lessons from every incident that takes place in his or her life.
Learning is about enriching our minds. Learning new things represents the growth mindset. To be good learner you should be able practice focused hinking modes of brain. Focused thinking is when you concentrating on something that you try to learn.
There is no age or limit to which we can learn, whenever you want to know new things explore it. It only depends on the will to learn. Try to innovate new things in your life. Stay Positive Stay Learning…..!!!!!!

“The world is a university and everyone in it is a teacher. Make sure when you wake up in the morning, you go to school.” ―T. D. Jakes

Never stop dreaming,
never stop believing,
never give up,
never stop trying, and
never stop learning – Roy T. Bennett

Meet Karimul Haque as known as Ambulance Dada, he is a tea garden worker in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal who ferries the ill, the poor, and the fragile to the district hospital on his bike. Karimul Haque is the real-life hero after I read about this man I get an amazing motivation, we approx most of the time think about ourselves what we do after graduation, about our bank balance, we always think what we haven’t, People like Karimul teach us it’s not necessary to have all the things we want for our life, it’s important to have the courage and desire to do the thing.

How to become a SUCCESSFUL person

Want to be a successful person? Trying hard but still didn’t get the thing for what you deserve for? If yes , then trust me this article will change your life. You will be motivated enough after reading this article. You all questions are answered in this article. So without wasting more time let’s start this wonderful article..!

Pressure

Believe me or not, but most of suicide cases are just because of this so called society pressure! What society think about us? What my parents do if, I fail? This are the common things that we think about in our daily life. Half of our failure is because of taking excessive pressure. but, ever you think what actually happen if you fail ? the answer is ‘Nothing’ no one actually put you in jail because of your own failure. No-one actually cares about failure. they just want an interesting topic to do gossip. and nothing else . At last its your failure. you have to understand that’s success and failure is all part of life.

Procrastination

We always avoid the work by saying that “we will do it tomorrow”. is that tomorrow ever come ? No because the next say the same cycle goes on. so the main thing is how we can avoid delaying our home-work, assignments and studies? the simple solution is to plan the things on time. Try to do things on time. make a Schedule. and also if it doesn’t work then stand up in the front of the mirror and ask yourself that “what you are actually doing” i know that sounds stupid but trust me it helps a lot. Daily analysing yourself and your work is the best key for success.

Stop Comparing

we compare ourself with others with no logic or clue. comparing will either lead to over-confidence or under confidence . By comparing yourself with other , you are doubting on your own capabilities. No one is perfect in the world. Your class topper or boss has also face a failure in his/her life. So stop comparing yourself because you are unique addition of yourself.

Change your Lifestyle

We all in our childhood learned a famous poem –

” Early to Bed , Early to Rise

Makes a man Healthy, wealthy and wise”

do this poem really applicable in our daily life right now? with this new era of full of netflix, hotstar and amazon prime , we have forgotten the value of time. we sleep late , wake up late, then how do we can expect a right thing from our late starting day..? bitter but truth..!! waking up early not only start our day with full of energy but also give us sufficient time to analyse ourself.

Do Smart Work

Gone are the days where the key for success was hard-work. In todays world were the competition is more and vacancies are less, hard-work alone cannot give you success. As said, modern problems require modern solutions so , smart working with hard work not only make your work easier but also ensure your success. Studies shows that 20 percent of your activities will account for 80 percent of your results. This is called 80 20 Rule. This rule means that do the 20 percent of your work but ensure that 20 percent is the most important work. Thus your 80 percent work will be done by doing that 20 percent important work.

Never Give Up

We always lose hope after the first failure. But never think about the lessons that our failure has taught us. What happen if we fail.. We can try next time. we improve our mistakes next time. We became more stronger in our next attempt. We just need to try harder and harder in our next attempt. Just keep that burning desire alive until you succeed in your life.

If you seriously want to be successful than you need to understand that success doesn’t come overnight. We have to try day and night for to be successful. Bill Gates, Mark Zuckenburg, Dhirubai Ambani and all the famous and inspirational people you see, never give up in their life. they daily work hard for your goal. That’s why they are at top position. At last, always remember, Your Persistence and dedication towards your goal decide your future.

Why is the content of YouTubers like SANDEEP MAHESHWARI and CARRY MINATI so popular amongst younger audience despite being so contrasting?

Being a part of the younger audience myself, I feel that whenever I am listening to anyone speak or reading an influencer’s write-up , I want to feel that connect with them. It is often done subconsciously in order to soothe the inner child within me which wants to convince herself that even well-successful grownups who are standing and delivering that speech with utmost confidence have done things wrong at some stage in their lives when they were maybe younger, immature or simply unaware because it’s human and perfectly normal. The mind has this piece of information well fitted into it but the heart often tends to maunder whenever surrounded by any discomfort. I believe that the language needs to be more simple, narrative of one’s own personal experiences, openly expressive of vulnerabilities, full of connecting and compassionate tones rather than just imposing suggestions or advices on to the younger generation because they then don’t take it constructively, they take it as orders and that’s why the generation gap goes on widening. I believe the tone has to be such as to make them convinced that they are not in the midst of problems alone. Like content pieces for younger generation include diverse topics related to beauty, menstrual taboos, pimples and acne, dealing with the adolescence and peer pressure, career counseling, acting like cool guys or studs, pros and cons of excessive gaming, early dating etc among both boys and girls. Hence, tone should be assertive, firm and yet comforting to ease off the excess baggage which teenagers unknowingly carry on their shoulders. We need to make them understand, through our content, that we are here to try and suggest them a list of methods to solve their problems so that they are able to sense that natural connect and this way, they might even hear & implement it truly. And without any doubt, Sandeep Maheshwari has got all such qualities of being just the right advisor and mentor for teenagers.

So this was all about trying to creat impactful and emotionally moving yet stabilising pieces of content.
Let us now deeply discuss the language/tone used by the content creators other than motivational influencers who still manage to attract younger audience. Teenagers of today’s world often try and engage themselves in activities which can help them avoid their problems for a while cause they feel too weak and are simply unaware of their problem solving capabilities. But whatsover anyway, they watch a lot of laughter content on YouTube and other streaming platforms that gives them their much desired temporary escape from the depression, anxiety, vulnerabilities and non healed wounds caused within a broken/unhealthy relationship with friends or parents.

This need not be the case for every  teenager as a majority of them also watch such light-hearted contents for their mood freshening or to simply ease the study pressure. YouTubers like Carry Minati, Bhuvan Bam etc and meme pages on social media are so popular amongst younger audiences because of the kind of satirical tone/language which they quite effortlessly adapt while talking to their audience. The center point of the videos as far as my knowledge stretches is, the mockery, the trolling activity, the constant taking a jibe at someone/something.

So if you’re trying to create some content for a younger audience, make sure it falls in either of the two categories since maximum rates of success are guaranteed here. And the living proofs are these two legends!

It’s Never Too Late To Live Your dreams

We always hear that it’s never too late to live our dreams and there’s no better example than Chandigarh resident Harbhajan Kaur who in true sense living her dreams. She’s indeed an inspiration to all the procrastinators. Her journey aptly defines that age is just a number and where there is will you will definitely find your way.

So let’s take a look at her tasteful journey of passion:

It all started in 2016,when one day Harbhajan’s daughter Raveena Suri asked if she had any regrets in her life to which she sadly expressed of not being able to earn a single penny over these years. This pinched Raveena lot. Aware of her mother’s cooking capabilities she now decided to motivate her and showed her the direction towards a new beginning. She asked her to make and sell her signature ‘Besan ki Barfi’ which over the years was only relished by family members.

So one day they both visited sector-18 to sell their sweet and it was very much liked by people and at the end of the day Harbhajan Kaur for the first time earned an amount of ₹2000. But what started as a weekend startup soon became on orders only enterprise. This was the time when Harbhajan Kaur was living her dream. Soon their idea took its final shape and she started selling barfis under brand name Harbhajan’s with the tagline “Bachpan Yaad Aajayega” (you’ll remember your childhood). The most interesting thing about her is that she herself manages everything on her own from roasting gram flour to cutting the perfectly shaped barfis. Her barfis are made only on orders and people collect the freshly made barfis at her residence.

Her hard work soon received plaudits when she trended on Internet after a tweet made by Anand Mahindra. He tweeted “When you hear the word ‘start-up’ it brings to mind images of millennials in Silicon Valley or Bengaluru trying to build billion dollar ‘unicorns’. From now on let’s also include a 94 year old woman who doesn’t think it’s too late to do a start – up. She’s my entrepreneur of the year.”

So now what are your views about this inspirational story? Don’t you think if she can then why not you? Wake up smell your dreams and start working to achieve them. Don’t be hesitant, don’t think about society or anyone else thinking “log Kya kahenge”. Just let it happen and feel the change.

Lack of motivation during lockdown:let’s find ways to deal with it….

In the past few months, world has witnessed a wave of discontent with students expressing their lack of motivation in doing things and specially studies. One pertinent question here is the need for various motivational guidelines which are not hard to follow, and which can make our lives better in this lockdown.

The first and the best way to increase our motivational power is to avoid negativity. Do not let negativity overpower you. Moreover, in some cases this negativity is so high that one can be depressed due to it, so the best way to remove negativity is the “process of catharsis”, whatever negativity is bottled up in us could be removed by thinking why these thoughts came to our mind and finally talking it out with someone will surely take negativity miles away from us.

Second, creation of a support network is necessary to stay away from negativity. Whether it be friends, teachers, parents or relatives, our support network should be strong so that at times of negativity we could share our thoughts with someone to remove them. Same is the case with studies, we should talk about it to reliable people so that we could get motivation to give a kick start to our studies.

The best way to give a kick start to our day should be ” Get out of bed and out of pajamas”, the simple act of getting up is a good first victory of the day. By following this, we could concentrate on our studies more than before. We should always remember the concept of ” Don’t overschedule “, which means that if we add more and more tasks in our routine it becomes very difficult to perform even one or two tasks. Hence, we should stick to our routine always and forever. ” Congratulate yourself for every task or goal you complete, no matter how small”. By doing this we will not just feel motivated to perform more tasks, but also a feeling of accomplishment will overwhelms us.

These are some of the ways to keep intact our motivational power, if we follow these, we will not just feel good about us but also we will be able to perform our tasks in a more better way. Now, other things which will ensure you to follow a systemic way of studying is taking a proper diet, which will give you energy and to deal with yourself and others.

If you keeps away negativity you will be able to motivate yourself to study. Come up with a solid reason why you want to build better study habits, like getting better grades, doing well on tests, or having less stress around assignment deadlines. Create a routine you plan to follow every time you want to study, like going to a specific place at a specific time.

Hence, this is rightly said ” Push yourself because, no one else is going to do it for you”. Be high at motivation and you will do wonders. Be it be studies or any other task, you should always know that no one will understand you more than you yourselves.
