LIVING MULCH

A alternative way to control weed

PATTIKONDA:11/07/2020

Living Mulch is a cover crop inter planted or undersown with a main crop, intended to serve the purpose of a mulch, such as a weed supression and regulates of soil temperature. Mulches are sowing the growth of weeds and protect soil from water and wind erosion.

Legumes used as living Mulches also provide Nitrogen Fixation,Reducing the need for fertilizer. When cover crops are turned over into soil,They contributes Nutrients to main crops so that less fertilizer is required. By using this we can fix soil structure.

Legume.

Mulches are used to control soil erosion, nutrients losses and offsite movement of pesticides.weeds cannot survive in this mulches. It control by two ways, Some are allelopathic and some are kill weeds.

Legumes have Plant Nutrients that effects on nutrients cycling of main crops. Mulches works in Legumes by 3 ways

  • By Fixing the atmospheric N2 that is for main crop
  • Recycling soil Nutrients and
  • Enhancing soil nutrients availabilty for crops
  • Less consumption of harmful and toxic fertilizers

But it has main Drawbacks like it competes with main crop for water and nutrients. This can reduce yield. It covers largely biomass production and turnover,They are not likely to increase soil organic matter. By this the main crop loss its yielding capacity of 5 to 10%.

CROP ROTATION

A useful method for farming

PATTIKONDA:11/07/2020

Crop Rotation is the practice of Growing a series of different types of crops in same field across a sequence of Growing seasons. By this it improves soil health, combat pest, weed pressure and optimise ecological balance

The most important factor of crop rotation is four field Rotation. The sequence of four crops (wheat, barley, clover and turnips) included a fodder crop, graze crop and allowing live stock to be bred year round. This helps a great Agricultural revolution in Britain.

The Advantages of crop rotation is Increases Soil fertility,Increases crop yielding, increases soil nutrients and ph level,Reduce soil erosion,Control of pests and weeds,Reduce pollution and Improves soil structure.

Way to yield more crop.

There are some disadvantages like poor farmers think it is a risk factor, Improper Implementation makes more damage and loss, obligatory crop diversification and Time to adopt for a new crop for land.

If we don’t crop rotation for many years we face problems like breakage of ecological balance, losses soil fertile, less yield , more chance to weeds and pests and loss of ph a very much.

Crop rotation makes new glamour to old field.

CROP FAILURE

Failures and its Prevention

PATTIKONDA:11/07/2020

Crop Failure is an absent or Greatly diminished crop yield relative to expectation ,caused by the plants being damaged,Killed or destroyed in some conditions that they fail to form crops, seeds, leaves, fruits, pulses.

One of the effects of farming is the frequent complete loss of crops due to adverse weather conditions or pests. We explore what causes catastrophic conditions of crop failure by soil and climate

Some examples of Crop failure is Great famine ,Heavy Rains , Volcanic eruption, poor harvesting ,Floods,de salinity land, soil erosion, over fertilization, over desertification, using too much chemicals and unsustainable farming.

Famines and floods

The preventions for crop failures is using sustainable seeds, using digital tools and farming, By using organic materials and maintain low temperature at rate of reproduction by ecological balance.using bed and furrow system of field to prevent floods .

The most effective crop loss preventions are Fertilization, pruning, weeding, loosening the soil,Removal of crop residues, crop rotation and other works of tilage. Constructing ponds, dams and resoirvoir at bank s of fields for alternate source of famine and floods.

AGRICULTURE IN INDIA

A Farming Nation

PATTIKONDA:10/07/2020

Agriculture is the Mainstay for the Indian economy. The share of Agricultural sector capital formation in GDP declined nearly 2.89 percent in 2012-2013.This has improved to 3.87 in 2018-2019. It contributes nearly 18% of national income, while 54% are depend on agriculture.

Agricultural growth has direct impact on poverty eradication. It also an important factor in containing inflation raising Agricultural wages and employment generation. To encourage the Agricultural products ,the Government announce minimum support price to crops.

But since 2012,Indian agriculture sector is almost going through a crisis of huge food grain surplus wiped, crop failures, threats and suicides of country. Commercial crops are the crops which are produced for trade purpose like oil seeds, sugar, fibre crops.

India known as Rice bowl and sugar bowl of world. Here,The Importance of Agriculture in the industrial sector is not only for supply of raw material, but it provides food grains for the people working in that sector and market for industrial products.

The government of India introduce Agricultural sector in five year plan to reform activities and solutions for farmers. “India a farming country ,to be farming country forever “

FARMER SUICIDES AND PREVENTION.

Way to control suicides.

PATTIKONDA:09/07/2020

As,India is an agrarian economy which is pre dominant sector of economy. Nearly 70 percent populatoin still depend on farming.but, farmers commits suicide is a major Drawback for India. The back boners of nation is loss their lives for various reasons.

The Main reasons of suicides are debt, low yielding, stress,Apathy, money lenders pressure, crop failure, family problems and lack of knowledge.

Preventions: one of the most effective and single plan is by active plan of Government in advance of real issues. The Dependency of Agriculture on nature should be reduce. Prevention of crop failure is first aim.

By using proper management of water it can be reduced some extent. Make Institutional finance available to every farmer to save them from money lenders. This helps to avoid major suicides in India.By giving loans and profits ,farmers are not commit suicides.

Farmers are need to advised and Guided on economical methods of cultivation which would save crop loss. The Modern technics and Advanced Agriculture is trained to maintain by small Farmers.

The government could also helps to explose the pooling of lands of small farmers from land lords. It can encouraged to develop to financial and encourage to them. Nearly 6000 farmers commited suicide in 2019-2020.

Not a farmers, They are food givers and Back bone to society and Nation

Plant morphology

Study of form and features of plant

PATTIKONDA :07/07/2020

Plant Morphology is the Study of Physical and External structure of plants which is the based on Internal structure of plants by Microscopic level. This is usually considered as distinct from Plant Anatomy, which is study of Internal system of plants.

Plant anatomy treats both vegetative and Genetic structure of plants. There are Two major systems in plant morphology one is Shoot system and another one is root system. These two systems are common to nearly all Vascular Plants and provide all growth systems.

Plants exhibit Natural variation in their form and Structure. While all organisms vary from individual to individual parts in plant. By this ,Plant exhibit Three primary causes of variation. They are position effects, environmental effect and Juvenility

FRUIT SYSTEM (PARTHENOCARPHY)

In this Morphology plant shows features like pollination, fertilization and Parthenocarphy. Parthenocarphy is devloped from ovary without fertilization.Normally these are seedless Example of these are Banana,Papaya,Orange.

DRIP IRRIGATION

Innovative method in Agriculture.

PATTIKONDA:05/07/2020

Drip Irrigation System is a Micro based Irrigation System that has to save Water and Nutrients. By Supplying Water to plants in drop by drop it save Water and minerals.

Drip Irrigation is Invented by Simcha Bliss in Israel but it found in India at 600 a.d ago. It works by exposing roots to a direct supply of water. This Method releases water slow and steady where drip emitters are connected to water source by feed hose.

There are Two types of Drip Irrigation one is Surface Drip Irrigation Which is Delivered Water to Surface of Soil directly above root system. This is used on High level crops. The Other one is Sub surface drip which is applied directly to roots.

The Advantages are saving water, low pressure, drip feed, less soil erosion, time saving. The Dis advantages are highly cost, may block pipes when water not filtered, more leakages when damaged.

It also become most valued Innovation method since sprinklers came.It can be used in Fields,Gardens,Parks and Nurseries.

ANCIENT FARMING

Traditional Farming

Pattikonda:04/07/2020.

Traditional Farming ,which is Known as Ancient Farming. It can be defined as Primitive style of Farming that involves the Natural Resources,Organic materials and Cultural beliefs of the farmers.

It is developed from 3300 b.c by using stone pullers tied with oxen. The Natural Resources are Dung, water and Neem oil are used in this Farming .Hoe,hammer and sickle are tools of Traditional Farming.

There are two types of Traditional Farming. They are subsistence Farming and Commercial Farming.Subsistence Farming is used to feed their families. Commercial Farming are used to make money and more yield.

By Following Traditional Farming,Farmers can grow Double crops,Mixed Crops, crop Rotation.Farmers using products are Harmless and make soil fertile.

The advantages of Traditional Farming are good Production,Simple Harvesting,Safer Foods,Centre pivot Irrigation and soil fertile. This helps to lead Farming more years and good yield.

But It also have some Disadvantages like Time taken ,less crop yields, more work etc.

The beauty of farming is that is a culture of Farm her(land).

RAIN BUGS

Red velvet mite(Aarudhra worm)

Pattikonda:02/07/2020.

Red velvet mite,Popularly known as Rain bugs. The scientific name of this worm is TROMBIDIIDAE.These are red in colour. It ranges in size of 5-7mm and non poisonous. These are Farmer friendly worms.

The Worm which signs for Good rains and good agriculture season throught year. Mainly, In A.P the farmers are believed this for good rainy season and time to cultivate land and Harvesting.

This worms are only comes at rainy season. They are part of soil arthopods which makes soil fertile by decomposing organic material. These shows potential biological control of season.

They also play vital role to the rate of soil fertile and eats harmful bacteria and worms. Farmers have pinned much hope on this worms for good yielding and good season.
