India in covid-19

Our country faces the world’s largest lockdown to avoid the spread of the coronavirus. During this lockdown so many impacts we’re taking place. It creates a tough impact on daily wages people because they lost their works. Migrated working people were returning to their native place. On their way to their home, they were struggling for food and other basic needs. The world’s largest lockdown means all factories, markets, shops, and the places of worship are now closed. Most public transport suspended and construction work halted, as India asks it’s citizens to stay home and practice social distancing. Even before the implementation of lockdown, India having a great effect on pollution. Our country capital Delhi is the most affected place in India because the more release of polluted air from vehicles and factories make Delhi as the most polluted area.

The national curfew in India on March 22 also resulted in the lowest one-day traffic pollution on record analysis from CREA. India has one of the highest rates of respiratory diseases in the world and the world’s highest number of tuberculosis cases. Such widespread lung damage could potentially increase the risk associated with the coronavirus. A very high level of respiratory disease, even among young children they have asthma, the nebulizer has become a normal thing to have in the house for families who afford them. According to WHO, older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions, including asthma, appear to be at a higher risk of becoming severely ill with the virus. This lockdown gives a lot of encouragement and hopes that we can bring pollution down. The coronavirus crisis also presents India with an opportunity to invest in a clean energy future.

Vijay Shekhar Sharma of Paytm, which has big Chinese investments, says Chinese apps ban is ‘in national interest’

Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma has made a statement on India banning 59 Chinese apps including popular ones like TikTok, UC Brower, WeChat, Shareit, others saying the move by the Government of India is in the national interest.

Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma has made a statement on India banning 59 Chinese apps including popular ones like TikTok, UC Brower, WeChat, Shareit, others saying the move by the Government of India is in the national interest.

Paytm which is run by Indian company One97 Communications Ltd — a leading mobile internet company — has investments by Chinese companies. India’s one of the most popular digital payment services and e-commerce app Paytm has major investments from Chinese companies such as Alibaba and Ant Financial.

However, giving his reaction on the government banning Chinese apps, Vijay Shekhar Sharma it is a “bold step in the national interest.”

Taking it to Twitter, Paytm boss Vijay Shekhar Sharma wrote, “Bold step in the national interest.

Sharma’s statement is also a far cry from previous years when he touted Alibaba and his relationship with its co-founder Jack Ma as his biggest strengths. Paraphrasing a popular Hindi movie line, he said in 2015, “Mere pass ma hai… Jack Ma”

However, large Chinese investors such as Alibaba hold stakes worth billions in many startups and not just Paytm.

Alibaba itself is an investor in online grocer BigBasket, ecommerce firm Snapdeal, food delivery firm Zomato and logistics firm Xpressbees.

Chinese investors are deeply entrenched in the Indian startup ecosystem.

Virtually every unicorn, from Swiggy to Byju to Ola, has a sizable Chinese backing.

DEVOTION SEES NO RELIGION

“Ahe Nila saila Prabala Mata barana mo Arata Nalini banaku Kala dalana Ahe Nila saila”. Nestled on the eastern coast of India neighboring West Bengal lies Odisha the home to Sri Lord Jagannath. Notable for being one of the Char Dham or four abodes, the grandiose Jagannath temple of Puri for ages has heard the devotional songs sung by many great poets and priests. Drawn by the alluring aura of the Great Lord saints like Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and poets like Salabega have also been mesmerized by it. Just like the sweetness of Kanika bhog which is offered to the lord as Mahaprasad, there is an immense sweetness in this story of love and devotion of Salabega. Salabega was the son of the Mughal subedar, Lalbeg, and a young Hindu Brahmin widow who was a devotee of Lord Jagannath, who lived in the first half of the 17th century. As soon as he was sufficiently old, SalaBega took up fighting in his father’s campaigns. It so happened that, in the war where Lalbeg died, SalaBega got badly injured and was battling for life. His mother prayed to her beloved Lord Jagannath for her dear son’s life and her prayers were answered. SalaBega was cured miraculously. His mother told him then that Lord Jagannath was an incarnation of Vishnu, the creator of the universe. This incident made SalaBega convinced about the healing essence of the Lord, thus he ended up becoming Lord Jagannath’s devotee. Feeling greatly indebted to Lord Jagannath, he went to Puri to see Lord Jagannath. However, due to the custom of not allowing non-Hindus to enter the temple, the priests didn’t allow SalaBega to enter the temple. SalaBega didn’t fight or opposed them. He waited for the annual Chariot festival, the Rath Yatra where Lord Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra are brought out onto the Bada Danda and travel to the Shri Gundicha Temple, to their maternal aunt’s temple, in huge chariots allowing the public to have darsana. They stay there for nine days and travel back to the Shree Mandira. So every year he kept a watch for the chariot, he built a small hut on that road which is the Mazar now. During the rest of the year, he kept visiting religious places. On a particular year, he got delayed in coming back to his hut from Vrindavana, as on the way he suddenly fell ill. Feeling helpless and realizing that he would not reach Puri in time to see the Ratha yatra festival, he offered prayers to Lord Jagannath pleading him to wait until he arrived at the Rath Yatra. An anxious SalaBega cried out to Lord Jagannath and had a dream in which the Lord promised him that He would wait for him. So when the Nandighosha or the chariot of Lord Jagannath reached near the hut of SalaBega, it refused to move even an inch. People tried to pull it hard but nothing happened. They even got elephants to push the Nandighosha but SalaBega’s utter devotion to the Lord kept the Chariot glued to that exact spot for seven days. By then, the King of Puri and all priests were worried. The head priest got a dream telling him not to worry as the Lord was waiting for his favorite kid. So for 7 days, all rituals of Lord Jagannath, all pujas were done on the Chariot itself. SalaBega came at last. This time, nobody stopped him from going closer to the Lord. He went and had his darshan, and worshipped the Lords. Now it is ritualistic for the Lord’s chariot to stop near his Samadhi every year during Rath Yatra. The Lord’s benevolence is not restricted to just one religion, he sees everyone as his children.
Recently before the commencement of the rath yatra this year, the Supreme court of India passed an order canceling the Rath Yatra citing the growing concern of the pandemic as the reason for which 21 persons moved the court seeking recall of its order staying the historic Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra. Among them was Aftab Hossan, a 19-year-old Muslim student from Odisha’s Nayagarh district. Hossen has said his grandfather had constructed a Trinath (Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwar) temple at Itamati in 1960. He said that he has also read several books on Lord Jagannath and developed devotion towards the ‘Lord of the Universe’. This instance shows that faith breaks all the boundaries created by religion uniting people. Continue reading “DEVOTION SEES NO RELIGION”

A Lily In Bloom

Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold:—

Leigh Hunt talks about Abou Ben Adhem and shows how love and compassion for fellow human beings is a greater and quicker way to be in the grace of God. Leigh starts off by talking of Abou Ben Adhem who awoke from his peaceful sleep one night. Abou saw within the moonlight entering his room which was making his room rich and like a lily flower blooming he saw an Angel who was writing in a book of gold.

Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the presence in the room, he said,
“What writest thou?”—The vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered, “The names of those who love the Lord.”

The poem continues with Abou reacting in a calm and bold manner. Under normal circumstances, any individual would have been startled but not Abou. Being religious and peaceful, he wasn’t afraid of the Angel. Instead, he questioned the Angel as to what the Angel was writing in the book made of gold. The Angel raised its head and answered to him that the Angel was writing all the names of those who love God.

“And is mine one?” said Abou. “Nay, not so,”
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerly still; and said, “I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men.”

Abou, curious, asked the Angel if his name was on the list. The Angel replied that Abou’s name wasn’t on the list. Although Abou was disheartened yet he wasn’t sad and in a jovial voice, he then asked the Angel to write his name as one of those who loved his fellow men.

The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blest,
And lo! Ben Adhem’s name led all the rest.

The Angel wrote his name as one who loved his fellow men and vanished. The next night the angel again appeared and awakened him and showed him the names of those who had received the love and blessings of God. The poet then exclaims and says Ben Adhem’s name was on top of the list ahead of everyone.

The moral of this parable is we should love our fellow human beings and that is the quickest way to earn the blessings of God. No religious rituals or prayers can earn us a quicker way to be in the grace of God than to love and be compassionate to our fellow human beings. This also follows several religious notions that God resides everywhere from nature to humans. To love humans is to love God, to cherish nature is to cherish God.  In this manner, we can find God everywhere around us and only love and compassion can make us earn the grace and blessings of God.

Teflon is toxic

Teflon and health

Teflon-coated cookware is the ultimate in cookware convenience. It keeps food from sticking to the pan, allows the diet conscious to use less fat while cooking, and makes washing up easier. Teflon, known chemically as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), is a plastic-like substance made up of a complex mixture of perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs). All good non-stick coatings intended for use in cooking are made with PTFE. The difference between brands lies in the proportion in which PTFE is blended with other materials.

Teflon is composed of several toxic chemicals that can be released from heated pans into the air and into food. The more often you use your pans at high temperatures, the quicker the coating will break down and emit tiny particles and gases into the air. As this happens (usually within about two years of continual use), washing Teflon-coated pans by hand or in a dishwasher with harsh detergents may accelerate the process further.

The chemicals emitted by Teflon are harmful to humans and deadly, even in minute amounts, to pet birds. Even if you’ve never used a Teflon-coated pan, there’s a good chance that you are carrying some of Teflon’s breakdown products in your body because the substance has a wide range of uses outside the home. PFCs have been shown to accumulate in human organs like the liver, gall bladder and thyroid gland. In other primates, exposure to one of Teflon’s breakdown products, PFOA, has led to hypothyroidism (the condition of having an underactive thyroid). This effect is also apparent in human studies. A prolonged state of hypothyroidism is a risk for obesity, insulin resistance and thyroid cancer.

Teflon may reduce the amount of fat we cook with, make washing up easier and clothes and carpets last longer; but it is a frivolous and unnecessary substance the benefits of which pale beside the possibility of killing beloved pets and raising your risk of heart disease, diabetes, birth defects and cancer.

“Truth – A powerful weapon.”

Truth is really the most powerful weapon that can protect you from all the problems in your life and help you to become successful. If you start making use of this weapon in your daily regimen you can conquer all the battles of your life. Hence, you shall try to be honest, as it has got many benefits. I have listed down a few of them:

● When you start speaking the truth, you start gaining the trust of your friends and family members. They start believing you and start trusting you for their work. Being honest at your workplace can help you to acquire the faith of your colleagues. This can help you to move ahead in your professional work and be successful. Along with trust and faith, speaking truth can help you to gain respect from people.

● When you have the habit of telling lies, you have to remember the lie that you have told, so as to put up your side in the future. You constantly have the fear of getting caught someday for the lies you told. But, by being honest and truthful, you don’t have to fear anyone or hide anything. You feel confident about yourself. You feel proud that you are not cheating or betraying someone by telling lies. You feel peaceful by being honest, as you are not forgetting your values of life and maintaining your dignity.

● Honesty is the base for any professional as well as a personal relationship. This is because honesty protects your relationship from all the odds and also maintains its strength even during tough times. Being truthful will help you to develop a strong and healthy connection with your loved ones.  You are able to express your thoughts freely without any hesitation and this encourages other people to believe in you. This helps to strengthen your relationships with people.

● When you are honest in your life, people come up to you for seeking advice and opinions, as they know that you will keep your opinion without being fake and with complete honesty. They feel safe while talking to you about their issues. People love to hear your opinion as they know about your honesty and believe you completely.

● Sometimes we want to remain in someone’s good books and want to keep good connections with people. But in this process, we stop ourselves from speaking the truth, just for not hurting anyone or insulting them. But, this behaviour prevents you from growing as a person. By not being manipulative and by being honest regarding your opinions about certain things and some people, you can help to bring a positive change.

We can thus see that being honest in your life has many advantages. It can make your life much easier and happier. Also, it is very easy to practice truthfulness in your life. Hence, we shall focus on being honest and speaking the truth so as to bring positive changes in our lives as well as others.

WATER POLLUTION

Introduction:Water is the essential element that makes life
on earth possible. Without water there would be no life. We
usually take water for granted. It flows from our taps when
they are turned on. Most of us are able to bathe when we
want to, swim when we choose and water our gardens. Like
good health we ignore water when we have it.
Although 71% of the earth’s surface is covered by water only
a tiny fraction of this water is available to us as fresh water.
About 97% of the total water available on earth is found in
oceans and is too salty for drinking or irrigation. The
remaining 3% is fresh water. Of this 2.997% is locked in ice
caps or glaciers. Thus only 0.003% of the earth’ total volume
of water is easily available to us as soil moisture,
groundwater, water vapour and water in lakes, streams,
rivers and wetlands.
In short if the world’s water supply were only 100 litres our
usable supply of fresh water would be only about 0.003 litres
(one-half teaspoon). This makes water a very precious
resource. The future wars in our world may well be fought
over water. By the middle of this century, almost twice as
many people will be trying to share the same amount of fresh
water the earth has today. As freshwater becomes more
scarce access to water resources will be a major factor in
determining the economic growth of several countries
around the world.

WATER AVAILABILITY ON PLANET

Water that is found in streams, rivers, lakes, wetlands and
artificial reservoirs is called surface water. Water that
percolates into the ground and fills the pores in soil and rock
is called groundwater. Porous water-saturated layers of sand,
gravel or bedrock through which ground water flows are
called aquifers. Most aquifers are replenished naturally by
rainfall that percolates downward through the soil and rock.
This process is called natural recharge. If the withdrawal rate
of an aquifer exceeds its natural recharge rate, the water
table is lowered. Any pollutant that is discharged onto the
land above is also pulled into the aquifer and pollutes the
groundwater resulting in polluted water in the nearby wells.
India receives most of her rainfall during the months of June
to September due to the seasonal winds and the
temperature differences between the land and the sea.
These winds blow from the opposite directions in the
different seasons. They blow into India from the surrounding
oceans during the summer season and blow out from the
subcontinent to the oceans during the winter. The monsoon
in India is usually reasonably stable but varies geographically.
In some years the commencement of the rains may be
delayed considerably over the entire country or a part of it.
The rains may also terminate earlier than usual. They may be
heavier than usual over one part than over another. All these
may cause local floods or drought. However in India even areas that receive adequate rainfall during the monsoon
suffer from water shortages in the post monsoon period due
to lack of storage facilities.
When the quality or composition of water changes directly or
indirectly as a result of man’s activities such that it becomes
unfit for any purpose it is said to be polluted.

Doctor’s Day

Doctor’s day is observed on various days across the world. It is marked to tribute to the physicians and their contributions to the society. Free medical check-up are being organized by the healthcare organizations to promote medical services free of cost among the public.

“Moon Landing And It’s Associated Key Discoveries”

Humans have been bringing advancement and progress in their way of living their lives with the help of science and Technology. Working in the phase turning ideas and dreams into reality have brought the confidence within them, enabling them to tackle difficult barriers and errors easily. These technologies and gadgets we use have helped the life of humans more comfortable and provided the ease of doing work. These have been in action and got pace after the industrial revolution and since then no turning back. With the help of these humans have made machines, automotives, rockets, buildings and many more to solve the curiosity running all through their mind. The biggest curiosity which has fascinated humans and still does is space. Space has always been u known to us and we get attracted to this fact

The race to space which did start with the fight to win it between the top countries of Soviet Union and the US did result in possibilities of understanding space as soon as humans landed on the moon. The fight turned into a pace of learning and solving many curiosities related to it. The theory of formation of space is well known and we do call it the Big Bang Theory but the theory of formation of the moon was still hidden. There were many theories which suggested that it may have come floating in space from other place. The other suggested that the moon was a part of earth interior and earth spin at high speed which did throw it away in space and various other theories. Scientists wanted a theory or reality which they can believe upon. The Apollo mission helped in it. The first landing on moon, and astronauts walk created history. But as soon as they were returning back, they collected the sample of the surface of the moon, which changed everything. The sample was collected by Neil Armstrong as they saw they had some space in their shuttle to keep it. When they came back, the regolith was sent for analysis to understand what the moon surface is made off and what are the elements which may be present out there. Surprisingly they saw some white rock like particles which looked and scientists supposed it to be Anorthosite. It was something strange but also a great deal at that time as it could help us solve the theory of formation of the moon

Regolith is the moon soil which Neil Armstrong brought back on our earth. The curiosity of scientists increased as it was so fine that they were amazed to see such small particles of it. We know that the moon doesn’t have an atmosphere like earth, thus it doesn’t break any asteroid or meteoroid coming in it. This has happened for billion of years and thus created the sandy stuff on its  upper layer. So while examining it, they found many white particles which looked like Anorthosite. The fact about anorthosite is that it’s an igneous rock which means it’s a magmatic rock formed through cooling and solidification of magma. Anorthosite is lighter and less denser than various other things in magma. This suggests that the crust or the outer part of the moon is covered with anorthosite, which suggests that the moon was covered with magma all over.

So the big question which arose was how could the moon have magma inside it? Later scientists brought a Giant impact hypothesis, which is widely accepted around the globe. According to these hypotheses, earth got smashed by a big size object or may be plants, which initiated or threw the melted clouds of this magma and particles outside which formed debris like that of Saturn rings, which got collected and that formed into our moon. This might have happened billions of years ago when our earth was newly born and was hot. These rocks are guessed to be the oldest rocks since the times of formation of our earth and later moon.

Landing on the moon brought humans close to the less known facts of the moon and also its creation. It not only helps us to know the presence of other essential components and rocks such as oxygen, silicon, magnesium, iron and many more. These space expeditions have helped humans to solve few of space mysteries and many more are in the run to be solved with frequent trips to space, various research and developments in this field and new ideas to reach more of other planets and get deep into secrets of space, increase more of our fascination towards various space phenomenon and thus open another phase of possibilities and opportunities for humans .
