INDIA-CHINA CLASH

In a new Geopolitical flashpoint, at least 20 of the Indian troop got killed in a face-off with the Chinese troop in the Ladakh  region after having crossed the Line of Actual Control(LAC) .It’s reported to be the deadliest clash to have happened in 50 years, after 1962 Indo-Sino war. The rumour is that the Chinese attacked because of a piece of land in the Ladakh region, but in reality the fight is about much more than that.

Tension flared between the two nuclear-armed country from the month of may, when troops in numerous numbers from each side  started to make  way to the Ladakh region. They ‘re backed by armoured trucks and artillery. The Chinese troop entered the boundary  at three points, making tents, guarding the posts and continuing even after receiving warnings, which eventually led to the pelting of stones and iron rods. On the 15th of June,2020  20 indian soldiers succumbed to the injuries ,amidst the sub-zero temperature.

Indian army have reported that the violent clash took place during the de-escalation process. Beijing is to be blamed for the clash in the Gahwan Valley near the LAC. Gahwan Valley is important because it leads to Aksai Chin, which is  a Plateau controlled by China but claimed by India. According to India, China unilaterally changed the status quo. The Chinese could not take the pressure of India building  the infrastructure in it’s own territory ,in the ladakh region .Earlier in the year 2019,Chinese had condemned India’s decision to declare Ladakh, a federal territory.

Both the sides accuse each other, of having entered their area of territory and assaulted them. Unlike  ,the other countries the media in China is fully controlled by the Government. That was the reason why China was successful in hiding about the virus for a very long time. China ,who has  mastered the art of hiding information from over the world, have once again not reported the number of men killed in the clash. According to reporters, around 45 Chinese soldiers have been killed in the clash. China went a step further, when it detained our 10  Indian men in the Himalayan region, probably doing it again after the 1962 war. After negotiation with China, China had agreed to return the soldiers back unharmed. While on being asked, China claim to deny the fact that it detained  Indian men. In fact, they even went on to say that India should find out the truth. This had led the whole nation in fire for protest. People in streets were seen burning the portrait of China’s President Xi Jinping , along with Chinese flags , as they shouted  slogans of “Boycott China”.

Narendra  Modi  paid tribute to the soldiers, who died in the clash and gave the assurance that their blood didn’t go into vain and , when needed befitting reply would be given to them. On the 19th of June,2020  Narendra Modi held an meeting with 20 Parties to discuss the India-China relationship. During the meeting, he  gave the assurance that not an inch of land  had been under capture by China, nor it would happen in the future. The construction work of the bridge in the Gahwan Valley, would not stop and continue in same pace as before. This whole clash by China was a pre-planned move by China to distract the whole world ,after receiving hatred from all over the world.US blames China for it’s territorial intentions, in order to distract the world from it’s role of spreading coronavirus.

SMART TOILET

The quest of being environmental friendly ,have led people to  explore every possible aspect.The latest one, is the “Smart Toilet”. This Pandemic have made people think about hygiene more than ever, and personal hygiene tops the list. It has been proved  that smart toilet  stands amongst the top 20 most search item on amazon, this lockdown period.

In layman’s term, a smart toilet is a normal toilet filled with gadgets, where the data gets stored in a cloud based software. It is like a bidet , which is mounted on the ordinary toilet having multi-purposes. It’ s not something ,that would lift the lid when its sensing human, but rather it is valued as “Disease Detecting ” toilet. It can be used for treating diseases related to stool and urine, which includes detecting prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, etc.

In many cases , the doctor’s are not able to treat patients since it’s impossible  for anyone to keep record of each and every element of poop. Using Artificial Intelligence(AI),the toilet would keep a record of the number of times any particular individual sits, with help of unique IDs .

The data of the stool assessment and urine samples captured in  the form of video, with help of algorithm are sent to a separate cloud based system. The sample helps in giving the Urodynamics. Urodynamics consists of stream time, total volume, flow rate ,etc. The smart toilet even measures the protein levels , and our consistency of white blood cells(WBCs) in our body. This can help in treating cancers and kidney failures.

The toilet has a scanner for both finger and non-finger parts which are unique in nature. Otherwise the  concept of reading fingerprints on flush  would prove out to be inappropriate. However, the scientists are now trying to overcome the problem of camera shy people , by replacing the concept of scanning private parts of people for unique IDs , with a laser camera.

The Never-Ending Relationship Between Nepal And India

Last month as soon as the news of  Narendra  Modi inaugurating  80 km (50 mile road) Lipulekh Road , which lies at a three way junction with Tibet and china, started doing rounds Nepal called for talks with India .The road serves as the shortest route between Delhi and the Kailash Mansarovar, the Hindu Pilgrimage. It’s also the most feasible trade route between China and India .As per the talks made, solutions were to be sought by way of negotiations. The Govt. of India has been refrained from carrying out any activity  related to the road till then.

The Nepal Government have now passed new Constitutional Amendment Bill in a move to update their National Emblem, which shows the new map of Nepal now including Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura. This bill was passed by 258 members, out of a total of 275 members. Around two-third of the majority  have voted for it. The map  was  passed by the National Assembly, the Upper Chamber of Parliament and approved by Devi Bhandari, Nepal’s President  before making part of the constitution.

Government of India reacted to this by saying that it was totally self-centred and myopic decision on part of Nepal’s Government, as it fails to reflect any type if seriousness .New Delhi on the other hand have always focused on willingness to mutually solve the issue in a conducive environment. This artificial claim by Nepal seem to be not tenable. It’s violative of the understanding of the outstanding boundary talks.

Let’s Jump into History!

Back in the year 1817,Nepal had clanned to the area of Nabhi, Kuthi, Tinkar and Chhangru villages. Tinkar and Chhangru were returned to Nepal since they fell to the east of River Kali, while the other two villages were refused to be returned. According to the then Governor General , and the Treaty of Sugulai, the dispute regarding whether Kuthi, Yanki and Lipugadh stream flows into the Kali River or not, was resolved .But now the current claims  that these three areas are part of Nepal’s Map are contrary to the protocol and treaty signed by China.

At the time when Sonia Gandhi had been denied entry to the Pashupatinath Temple, on grounds that she was not a Hindu, made Rajiv Gandhi impose blockade on Nepal. Since then China used Nepal against us in it’s conspiracy, and the ties worsened between the two countries forever.

Since the two countries  have a 1880 km long open border, Nepal has increased it’s troop presence. Around 30 Indians were planning  to cross the Nepal territory , when the Nepal troop stopped them mid-way and asked them to return. People chose to hurt them by throwing bricks. As a reflect action, 15 rounds of ammunition, out of which 10 rounds were fired in the air. Three Indians got injured , out of which one died. They’ve even detained one person .The Indians are trying to talk to their Nepali counterparts, to solve the matter and not stretch it further.ave

India has been for long supportive of supplying medical aids in the form of hydroxychloroquine tablets, test-kits in the fight towards the Pandemic. All this has led India to a situation, where we’ll have to make a choice between resolving the matter through negotiations , or settle down by talking with Kathmandu. Recent news show that New Delhi is willing to talk to Kathmandu, so they’ve been asked to pause the process of the new Map.

Nepal has no other option than maintain good relation with India , because it is landlocked by India from three sides, and if India reiterates, it would have a adverse impact on the economy of Nepal. China is not an alternative for India, because China accounts for only 14% of the total imports, whereas India on the other hand accounts for nearly two-third of the imports .And, as far as the exports are concerned,India receives around 60 % of Nepal’s export, while China being self –reliant receives just 2% of the total Nepal’s export.

IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON WOMEN EMPLOYEES IN INDIA

Covid-19 has  brought a tsunami on the social ,economic, cultural systems , specially affecting the  women  belonging to the lower income group. In India where women are culturally marginalized, the pandemic is of greater concern. The Covid-19 scenario has vividly shown to the whole world the fact that the world’s economy and the maintenance of our routine lives is dependent on the unpaid and invisible labour of women employees.

The health workers are the ones who are a higher risk due to pandemic. In South-East Asian Region , around 70% of the front line workers are women , as compared to 67% of the total number in the world. It has been observed that the number of women being affected by the pandemic may take a steep rise in the near future. The stress of managing and treating the infection well as impacted the mental health of the frontline workers , specially women employees. Mobility  restriction have further increased the exposure time towards women, leading to increase in suicidal cases, domestic abuse .This points out the male psychological distress going on , adversely affecting  women’s  psychological well-being . Past incidents have indicated that health resources are accessible only to limited women employees  ,but because of the pandemic there has been no access to health and sexual services like HIV medication ,contraceptive pills and safe abortion . Women on a average spend 4.1 hours/day on unpaid care and domestic work, compared to 1.7 hours/day for men. Women’s unpaid contribution to healthcare equates to 2.35% of global GDP .

Analysis done show that women count for 70% for the total workers in health and social sectors, and around 50% of them are unpaid. The recent data have shown that women spend thrice as many hours as men in unpaid care and domestic work, limiting their access to decent work. The global gender pay gap is stuck at 16% with women paid up to 35% less than men in some countries. Women aged 25-34 years globally are 25% more likely than men to live in extreme poverty.

Global lockdown have resulted in the lockdown of women autonomy , practising them as second class and holding them back in our societies. Economic pressures on family are putting children, particularly women in a vulnerable state, and have restrained  them from essential services. The burden of care and responsibility of family members staying inside the house have made the situation all the more vulnerable for the women. The pandemic has put restrictions on the freedom of movement of people worldwide, affecting the freedom of expression of women.

Transforming inequities of unpaid workers to a new, inclusive economy would work for everyone and designing socio-cultural plans with intentional focus on lives of women. Even though a lot of women are working on the Pandemic, but they have little to no say in the  policies. There is an urgent need for sex-disaggregated data to see and understand how women employees are affected by the virus.

JAPAN’S INNOVATIVE STYLE OF EDUCATION

Japan , has one of the most compelling stories in education. Japanese students are continuously accustomed to getting warnings about breaking their own records of winning Nobel prizes .It is this pressure in them which can even  be seen in the country’s demolishing presence globally. Japan who is facing challenges in maintaining research position, have continuously been taking steps to improve the situation.

One of the major challenges faced by them was the continuously decreasing number of journals written by scientists , because of reduction in the state funding for operation costs. Deteriorating financial situation had led to the closing of research institutes, leading to few journals being published.

The Ministry of education , Culture, Sports ,science and Technology came up with WISE(World-leading Innovative & Smart Education) programme. These programmes established five year doctoral problems, inside and outside Japan. These  schemes will define the skills and expertise needed to resolve the problems faced. The main purpose behind these programme were to nurture outstanding researchers who would serve in different sectors, leading to creating values ,thereby bringing innovation in the society.

Another programme was the DII programme for innovation specially in future electronics. Gallium nitride (GaN) LEDs were  used widely. The scheme nurtured three types of people-deployers, innovators and the investigators. Collaboration and Co-operation between the three personnel were necessary to accelerate innovation. The highlight of this programme was to give births to engineers who’ll not only do conventional study, but even practise entrepreneurship and social services. Students under these  programme will take part of two internships. One would be of two weeks, connecting the students with the peers of other countries, while the second internship would be of six  months, where the deployers would work towards broadening their minds, innovators would work towards learning production and investigators will begin with international collaboration.

With the help of programmes like DII and WISE, Japan can breakthrough and regain back its list glory in research and development.

Is Incognito Mode Actually Safe?

Google , the tech giant have been accused of gathering data from user’s incognito mode without their permission. A lawsuit of $5 billion  have been filed in  the US District for Northern  district of California. The lawsuit has been filed by Mark C.mao, on behalf of three people based in Los Angeles, Chason Brown, Williams Byatt and Maria Nguyen. According to them , no matter what safety measures consumers take to protect the data privacy, Google still tracks and stores the data of consumer browsing history.

It’s not the first time that lawsuits have been filed against Google, but  this lawsuit dismisses the Federal Wiretap  Act(FWA).According to FWA, user’s are grant the right to sue if their private conversations  are either rapped or intercepted. It restricts the interception of content  which could be any electronic communication , wire or oral  .Under the FWA and California Privacy Act, $5000 is to be granted to each and every individual as a monetary compensation for violation of their privacy.. The user’s have the right to know about what all data is saved ,and what is not.

Let’s Understand the Incognito Mode?

Incognito mode is basically  making  you undercover, by not showing  the websites you’ve searched. Probably, for most of  us believe it’s the best preventive measure to  take. It’s been designed in a manner to remove local data, so that cookies could be either blocked or deleted, and the temporary files could be disabled. According to reports , if someone is using a Windows computer, the browsing history could be found in the computer data. It’s been said that not only the employees, but also the our Internet Service Providers(ISP) could view our browsing history as per their convenience. Incognito mode offers the false impression that the users have retained control about their browsing history.

The complaint argues that Google has been able to track users through Google Analytics ,Google Ad Manager and many more. The complaint talked about the practice of “Intentionally deceiving customers” , by maintaining full control of the customer’s browsing data, and even encouraging them to use and surf , by making them dream of their secured privacy.

Google in their defence to this lawsuit disagreed to this complaint .Jose Castaneda, their spokesperson talked about how the Incognito mode in Chrome gives the right to user’s to not save their data to the website, but added that each time we surf a website, the website might be able to get hold of the browsing information. However, it’s been mentioned in the Chrome help page that the Incognito doesn’t prevent location and action from being watched by the website. It’s been claimed that around 70 % of the users use Incognito mode, through this the Google receives the information like the user’s IP address , what user is viewing , details about what  they watched  and even details about the user’s hardware.

Two years back, researcher from Tennessee had come to the conclusion that the incognito data is collected with user-anonymous identifiers. Google has the ability to link the information with user identified credentials stored in the user’s Google Account.

Robot Revolution In China

Over the past years, China have undergone the robotic  revolution. China being the epicentre of the pandemic , had no other option but to use robots for purposes like disinfecting hospitals, enforcing quarantine restrictions and in delivering food. All over the world , it can be seen how the Pandemic  drastically shifted to Automation. In South Korea, Robots are being used to measure temperatures and in distributing hand sanitizers to lower the risk of Covid-19.

China would account for around 45% of the total robotic shipment by the year 2021,as compared to 39%  in 2019.China has planned  to upgrade to nation’s manufacturing technologies through  the Made In China 2025 campaign. China counts for nearly 800 robots makers , like SIASUN and DJI.Since wagers would no longer be cheap, it would be  a good option to switch to robots, where they can work for 24 hours shifts. Though  Robots might prove out  to be expensive initially, but in the long run they will be profitable.

Chinese Apps like “Meituan Dianping” , where autonomous vehicles are  used for local delivery services. More and more people have now switched on to using it , even for non-food items making it China’s Biggest Food Delivery App. During the pandemic, Meituan Dianping even started selling mobile phones. Meanwhile, Companies Operation  have taken a hit, and in order for it to get  back to track ,robots  are preferred over manual workforce. To speed up the process of faster “testing”, Senova ,the German developer have scaled up the productions of the rapid test systems.

In a video getting viral on social media, it seen how a robot was put in use at quarantine hotels in Beijing.Different  robots were allocated for each floors , the robots would dial the people’s  landline  while waiting outside the door. Standardised Food would then be delivered to their doorsteps , and the guests have to collect the food from the Robot’s belly.

  1. China’s latest invention , the Giant Robotic Arm  have be termed by the scientists as “Zero Gravity” , owing to its smooth operations. With the help of AI , and sensors it would be able to lift heavy objects , and could prove to be a miracle in China’s endeavours to space.
  2. Danish Manufacturer  of UV disinfection robots , have seen a sudden surge in robots. The machines destroy the DNA  or RNA of any microorganisms. Since the rays could prove out to be harmful for  human, it’s been controlled by someone far-off with the help of remote.
  3. Robotic unit, “The Blade Formation”  is  the newest invention by China, designed specially to take control of situations impossible for mankind .This include  assisting in the fire fighting missions,, combustible gas detection, on-site rescue because of 360 degree vision, image and sound collection.
  4. Chinese have created “Micro Robots”. They claim of having turned a gas bubble into a robot, but only in a water-rich environment capable of fabricating artificial tissues, or moresoover modifying a embryo. It can be used for biological research, tissue .

Likeable or Unlikeable, Netizens  of China have to accept  the Robot culture. China is all set to become the world’s most influential  tech country. The robots would be the new force replacing human power in all aspects.

CALL AGAINST RACISM

The death of the African American man, George Floyd aged 45 years old who got kneeled down on the neck by  white police officer, for nine minutes  in Minneapolis on 25th of May,2020 has set the whole world on fire. This has become the rallying point for protest against the black lives. It has even ignited fire in continents  beyond ,like Europe. In  no time since the video got viral on social media, George has become the most famous man on earth, and everyone took his an opportunity to express their anger by coming out on the  streets in huge numbers. His last words “I can’t breathe ,sir” remains engraved in people mind till now. Derek Chauvin, the culprit along with three controller present their have been charged of offence.

The activist aim of bringing drastic change to policing has been finally been seen achieving because of the death of George Floyd. People now seem to have a ray of hope for a complete transformation of public safety .Majority of Minneapolis city  council wants to put an end to discrimination by police superiors. A nine member council came together to pledge dismantle and disrupt police administration. They want to do this by rebuilding   the police administration from scratch, the objective behind this was to eliminate the bitter relationship developed between the people and the police department. This would finally put a full stop to “legal” racial discrimination. The whole scenario have now pushed the democrats to get  a bill passed, which would be aimed at reforming law enforcement in the country.

Protesters in their journey towards demanding justice, had to deal with smoke grenades, tear gas and nonlethal projectiles.Another video which went viral showed how  a old man, aged 75 years of age was protesting singlehandedly against the police officers, and he laid injured in the streets.US President Donald Trump got  slammed by New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo for tweeting without any proof that this was all a “setup”.

The continuous rising rage of the protests had led Trump to go down to the extend of sending army troops to the streets , in order to control the crowd. This could’ve been a possible solution for a country dominated by dictatorship, but not a country where democracy stands for long. People are protesting in huge number amidst the coronavirus, trying to break through all the stores in US and looting the government. The situation went to such an extent, that Donald Trump in fear had to go under bunkers. The government which  had earlier promised of building walls in lieu of their protection, now  has a covering made of steel all around The White House. The protest was even seen in Europe , after New York, Los Angeles ,London,etc. In Europe statue of Slave Trader Edward Colston was pulled down by protesters, made to roll down  through the streets to the green waters of the harbour.

Derek Chauvin ,  was addressed by the title “Sir” by George Floyd , seconds before he closed his eyes permanently . In a video clip recorded, it was seen that he is not set bail at $ 1.25 millions during a hearing. People crowded around Floyd’s last rites in hometown, Texas in order to pay him their tribute. He got buried next to his mother.

Philonise Floyd , George Floyd’s  brother  complained about how people from their background  have been ignored , and not paid importance. Democratic lawmaker Karen Bass told the house hearing that hopes America would pass the Rightful Police Reform by the end of December. George Floyd’s  brother  pleaded top the congress that his brother death should not go in vain , and he should be remembered , not as a mere picture. George Floyd  name has been engraved in the history pages, forever. He would now act as a catalyst to bring profound change.

WORLD WAR III

World  War III  refers to the next possible military conflict to happen in the world. The world war III fears have sent the whole world into pandemic. These  could be the  possible countries involved in World War III.

US-CHINA

There  has been an ongoing conflict between the two countries, over becoming the most powerful country. The trade   war is going as the US has for long accused China of unfair practises , mad made imports expensive with the intention to promote buying of American products. China is under the impression that US wants to curb it’s growing power. However, it’s now been said that the trade war has taken a new form of destruction named Coronavirus.

Is Coronavirus Different Form Of World War III?

During the first two wars, war was  basically associated with nuclear weapons, missiles .But the spread of coronavirus have proved how world war  can be started without strong nuclear weapons, but with Virus. As compared to before , now the enemy is invisible  which can be considered as master stroke by China. The virus has reported to have come from the wet food market of the Chinese City, Wuhan. But the conspiracy theory by scientists show that the virus was a manmade invention in Labs , so that it could replace US by becoming the  next superpower in the world.

Global Institution like WHO(World Health Organization) was formed at the time of previous world wars, in order to control the situation arising in case of an emergency.  Back in January 2020,when the condition of China made everyone around the world panic, WHO declared this situation as emergency  and  went against the decision to ban international flights from and to the city of Wuhan. Had it not  been for this mistake, the world would have been saved .It was later that WHO declared that the pandemic has originated from the Chinese city , Wuhan. This decision was taken  under a  lot of pressure from all over the world specially USA  ,in fear of losing ties with the most powerful nation.

US-NORTH KOREA

The relation between the two countries , primarily involved around the use of  nuclear weapon, missiles  and the  continuous threats to strike US. US has had meeting with North Korea thrice last year, to discuss not only  about the banning of their nuclear program, but also to ban their chemical and biological weapons. North Korea recently described nuclear forces as “high alert operation”, sending clear indications to Trump of it’s ability to attack anytime.

US-IRAN

Donald Trump attacked Iran’s most powerful  leader, General Qasem  Soleimani by making an airstrike at the Baghdad airport. In his defence, Trump said that he did this to make the world a safer place .As retaliation, Iran launched dozens of missiles at US forces in Iraq. People all over the world were concerned about the  tention between the two countries, following threats by Donald Trump to unleash $2 trillion worth of military equipment.

INDIA-PAKISTAN

History is proof of the bitter relations between India and Pakistan over Kashmir. Right after the partition, there have been issues , conflicts and wars over the land. And on top of all this, the growing relations of India with US,  has put Pakistan in a state of fear .

IMPRESSION OF COVID-19 ON EDUCATION IN INDIA

What our Prime Minister’s Campaign “ Digital India ”could not  achieve , the Pandemic has done it. Covid-19 has led to the closure of schools , affecting the learning of  around 230 million students. It started in the month of March, when the schools were shut down, but now owing to the present scenario there is no assurance when it would open again.

My Firsthand Experience

It was that time of the year, when my beautiful journey of two years in Institute of Management ,Nirma University  was about to end in March , 2020.With just fifteen days left  in hand for our final goodbye, we’re trying our level best  to  save our tears  for the last days.Just then when the new of increase of cases started coming , we officially received  the mail stating  our journey have come to an halt, keeping in mind the seriousness of the issue. In a span of few seconds, the memories of  last couple of  years  splashed in our minds.  Everyone  was shocked, as they ‘d no clue it would end like this. The feeling of not having been able to take the exams for probably the last time in our lives, didn’t sink much. However, the proverb, “Everything Happens For A Reason”, started  making all the more sense when  the number of  cases started rising, while all of us had reached home safely. Had it not been for the strong decision of our College authorities , we  would’ve bear the brunt.

With everything  on stake, Online education  takes off the old saying  “Learning Anywhere, Anytime”. Schools and Companies  have switched to apps like Class Dojo, Zoom, Google Classroom which have made the learning experience convenient and flexible. Teacher’s at all point are making the full use of app like Whatsapp, YouTube for online tuition  classes  in order to reach out to students in their doorsteps. Machine learning has led to the calculation to data driven tools, which  is why Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs) are preferred over Fill in the Blanks for the online test assessment.
