DECENTRALIZATION AND CENTRALISATION

DECENTRALIZATION

Decentralization is a systematic effort to delegate to the lowest levels of the authority except that which can be expected that can be exercised at central points. It is the pushing down of authority and power of the decision-making to the lower levels of the organization and the essence of decision making is dispersed throughout the organization. The essence of decentralization is the transference of authority from a higher level to a lower level. It is a fundamental principle of democratic management where each individual is respected for his inherent worth and constitution as Newman and Summer rightly said “Decentralization is simply a matter of dividing up the managerial work and assigning specific duties to the various executive skills”.

FEATURES OF DECENTALISATION

The following are the chief characteristics of decentralization:

  1. It is an extended form of delegation.
  2. It gives importance to the role of subordinates.
  3. It reduces the work-load of the managers in the top hierarchy.
  4. It is a process applied to the entire organization.
  5. Under it its decisions are taken by those employees who implement them; and
  6. Under it along with authority, responsibility is also transferred.

CENTRALIZATION

Centralization is the reservation or withholding of authority by individual managers within the organization and according to Henry Floyd “Everything that goes to increase the importance of the subordinate’s role in decentralization, everything which goes to reduce it is centralization”.

In centralization a little delegation of authority is the rule; power and discretion are concentrated in a few executives. Control and decision-making are in the hands of top-level management, however, absolute centralization is untenable because it would mean that the subordinates have no duties, power, or authority.

Centralization may be essential in a small organization to survive in a highly competitive world, but as an organization becomes more complex in terms of increasing size, the interdependence of work-flow, complexity of tasks and spatial physical barriers within and among groups, a requisite for efficiency is to move decision-making centres to the operating level. Thus, the larger the size of an organization, the more urgent is the need for decentralization and this does not mean that denaturalization is good and centralization is bad. According to Allen “ Centralization is the systematic and consistent reservation of authority at central points in the organization” and according to Fayol “Centralization is that organization where the role of subordinates is reduced”.

FEATURES OF CENTRALIZATION

On the basis of the properties, the following are the characteristics of centralization:

  1. Right of decision is centralized and withhold with the top level of the management.
  2. The lower level of management executives only follows the decisions and necessary actions taken by top-level management.
  3. There is the least use of the process of delegating rights as it brings down the taken for making a decision and reduces the number of people involved as there is the direct involvement of the top-level management.
  4. There is reduction in the role of subordinates.
  5. There are a great distance work site and the decision-making place.

To Err Is Human; To Forgive, Divine

Each and every being in this world has sinned countless times. In this world full of sinners like us, we can never expect someone to be perfect. Each one of us commits mistakes at some point in our life because it is, after all, human nature to commit mistakes. We humans have our strengths and weaknesses. So when someone does wrong to us why can’t we forgive them when we expect them to forgive us for the same mistake if we did that. Forgiveness is not a thing that we practice in our lives for other people. We do it for ourselves – to get well and to move on. Forgiving a person brings out the god-like nature that lies in humans.

Also, practically speaking, no one would like his mistake being brought up again and again and thrown on his face. So, why not to forgive the other person and let it be?

Forgiveness is seen as a divine act and the one who forgives is seen as being of divine nature. For such was Jesus Christ, who, even on the cross, during his last moments was able to ask for forgiveness from the Holy Father for the people who had put him to death.

Even Lord Rama showed no hatred against his stepmother, Kaikeyi, for sending him to the forest for 14 years so that her son Bharat could become the King.

But to play the devil’s advocate, you just can’t keep on forgiving a person for repeating his sins again and again. You can’t let yourself be used as a doormat.

And then there are those people too who don’t care a penny whether the other person is forgiving them or not, or what he thinks about them. While some of them just forgive others to show how divine they are. However, deep inside their hearts, they devoutly pray to their gods to punish their sinner for his sins.

Forgiveness is considered a divine act. But in this materialistic world, words like divine and holy do not exist. People believe in the philosophy that if you have done something wrong, you ought to bear the brunt of it.

If you are working in an office and do something wrong, do you think your boss forgive you and give you another chance? Definitely not! He’d fire you out of the job immediately.

And if forgiveness is a good virtue then why are those criminals being hanged till death or serving life imprisonment.

Also, going back to the era of Ramayana, why did lord Rama leave his wife, Sita, on the basis of the comments passed by the washerman?

Ultimately it all depends on the situation and our thinking. What our situation is and what we feel about that sinner. If we want to forgive someone from our heart, we will forgive him or her even if he or she has done a huge crime. On the other hand, we may not forgive a person for committing a minute mistake also. And while we are considering these two factors, we can never forget another vital factor that is the nature of the sin. At the end of the day, it is all relative.

#sorrows of Sparrow 🐦

Do you remember your childhood when you use to sing that beautiful song ‘Anek chidiya ‘?today ,like the ‘chidiya ‘,the song has become almost extinct!even birds like the commando sparrow, which we used to see in large in numbers, are scarcely seen today.these ‘chirpy little fellows ‘ that used to delight us onces upon a time should now be named ‘Sorrow’ instead of ‘sparrow’. That is what their lives have become. Full of sorrows! Human beings have no mercy for them. They shoo them away. They do not allow them to make nests on their balconies Or terraces. Rapid urbanization has resulted in cutting down of trees. This destroyed their natural habitat. An over – Abandunce of vehicle and factories have polluted the atmosphere. We have erected mobile towers and use cellphones, the vibration of which, distrub these birds.how do we expect them to live in the concrete jungles that we have erected? We have changed the entire infrastructure around us. We have paved the roads. We have tiled the areas around our buildings. Where are the green areas? As a result these little friends of ours have escaped, no more return. Trees provide our friends, the sparrows, with fruits and insects to eat. Now they are facing an acute security of food. It is for us, human being, to take more efforts to make things easy for these birds. We could provide grain or food for them to eat outside our balconies or windows. We could provide them with little boxes in which to have a dust bath. How enjoyable it would be to see these cheery little creatures flapping around in the mud! More importantly, we could plant more trees. Is anyone reading out there? Will anyone heed their plight and take necessary steps to help them? Otherwise these friendly Birds are facing extinction! The lifestyles of the people has been changed and they are no longer environment or Bird-Friendly. So this is our responsibility to do something for that little one. Just think about it! This is the small msg from that little sparrow–🌠Dear friends, I am little sparrow and how helpless I am? In fact, my name should have been ‘sorrows’ instead of sparrow, because Human beings have no Marcy on us, little birds that we are. They pollute the atmosphere and erect mobile towers, making it impossible for us to breathe or live. They cut down trees that are our natural habitat. Tell me, where we expect to live? In the past, the trees provided us with fruits & insects to eat. Now, however because of deforestation, we are facing a scarcity of food. I wish human beings would take more efforts to make things easy for us. They could provide us food & shelter. They plant more trees. These are our expectations from you people. Will they heed our plight and take necessary steps to help us? Otherwise we are facing near extension! Thank you all!

Barriers to communication

Communication is a two-way process, it is a method through which we transmit desire information ideas, knowledge, emotions and feelings from one to another. But sometimes, due to some reason, we fail to send desire data to another person i.e., receiver these reasons are called Barrier to communication.

For examples: When we are communicating in a crowded area; it is difficult to transfer our data due to interference of noise. So the environment is not suitable for communication hence, it is a barrier to communication.

Types of Barrier to communication

It can be of two kinds

  1. Channel Noise
  2. Semantic Noise

The difference between them is that Channel Noise develop externally (that is, external to the message) whereas the semantic Noise is internal to the message.

  1. Channel Noise: When there is any unwanted interference or snag in the medium of the communication process, called Channel Noise. For example: Noise market place or illegible handwriting can be called as Channel noise, both factors that create communication failure. In some case it is medium and in other is the environment. Noisy environment and illegible handwriting, a worse medium, creating a barrier. Below are some causes.
  • Physical Noise in the Channel
  • Use of Inappropriate Media
  • Information Overload]
  • Fear of Superior
  • Negative Presupposition
  • Communication Selectivity
  • Poor Listening

Semantic Noise: It can be defined as noise or barrier that is generated from within a message. As language is connotative, that is, the meaning of a word is not always stated directly and can also be implied hence, it may cause a communication failure. For example: If someone says that ‘ the bark is strong ‘ then the meaning of the sentence will depend on the context in which it is spoken, ’bark’ can be used for two things one is for dog’s barking and another one is for tree’s bark. It depends on the context. Therefore it may create communication barriers. There are numerous examples of Semantic Noise. Following are the causes of Semantic Noise

  • Limited Vocabulary
  • Incompatibility between Verbal & Non-Verbal language
  • Varied Perception due to different background such as cultural.
  • Wrong Assumption & Interference
  • Blocked categories/categorical Thinking
  • Emotional, psycho-social Unsettled State

Strategies to overcome the Barrier to Communication

If an individual wants to be an effective Communication then he needs to learn methods to avoid Barriers. An Individual can overcome Barrier to communication

  1. Identify the Problem
  2. Find the cause
  3. Work on an alternative solution
  4. Opt for the best sol
  5. Follow up rigorously

We can avoid the Barrier by using effective communication. It can be done through following FCs. These norms apply in both oral and written communication. It is a thought that adopting FCs, shoot up our communication level from low to high.

  1. Completeness: Any communication must be complete, in the sense that message should convey all required facts, info for comprehension of the message.
  2. Conciseness: It refers to the facts that while communication process one should try to make the message as short as possible to make it effective it saves times, reduce cast.
  3. Consideration: Consideration communication implies that the sender of message sites into the shoes of the audience /reader in terms of their viewpoints, background etc., to ensure that complete message received by the receiver.
  4. Clarity: Clarity is communication implies that message should be as culture-free as possible and that it is easily understandable.
  5. Concreteness: Concreteness is communication implies that being particular and clear rather than frizzy &general. By using facts, figure or quote make communication more effective.
  6. Courtesy: Courtesy in communication implies that the sender should respect the receiver in terms of polite, judicious & enthusiastic.
  7. Correctness: Correctness means there should be grammatical errors, no dubiousness in facts & figure.

We can also follow some more measures to overcome the barriers of communication.

  • Clarify ideas before communication.
  • The communication process should according to the need of the receiver.
  • Consulting other before communication.
  • Awareness of language, tone & content of the message.
  • Ensure proper feedback.
  • Follow up communication.
  • Be a good listener.

Current status of the animals in COVID-19 pandemic

Have you ever wondered while you’re at home safely; the doctors, nurses, police, army are the real warriors fighting in this pandemic. But what about the animals around us and in the wildlife sanctuaries? The pets may be safe, but the lone strangers are in need, and we need to help them. In this situation, the activities of poachers have been increasing a lot and can be a significant threat to wild animals, including the endangered animals.

Let’s start with something positive first. One of the facts that researchers were in shock after noticing the penguins are so happy after enjoying with less sea ice; it made them roam and dive freely in the water. Also, the bees, due to less pollution, are now able to find flowers easily. You may also see news like the animals in the zoo are roaming freely; nature is recovering, and much more. But that isn’t the reality. There’s a dark secret hidden behind these hysterical scenes.

A happy penguin looking at you while reading this article

People being unemployed in rural areas prone to move towards illegal activities. In Kenya, also Cambodia and some parts of Africa where bushmeat is increasing a lot. The rhinos are in danger for their horn, although there is no possible way to supply them due to restrictions. The protection in those areas might have reduced due to severe health complications in the countries, so they get an easy escape and a great start planning to earn money. The current situations have worsened day by day as the patients are increasing, beds are reducing, and the government is more focused on healthcare systems.

The technology wants to lend hands to help, and some of them did apply the methodology. Kruger National Park in Africa is using drones as a part of Postcode Meerkat and also day night vision cameras to keep an eye on such activities. The most crucial fact is that the number of wildlife animals is decreasing day by day, and most importantly, the diseases are being spread due to such activities. The worst nightmare in Africa, Ebola, also the SARS and AIDS have all originated due to the animals.

A typical seafood market

The wet market, banned several times in China, still functional in some areas leading to the outbreak, which has re-begun when the virus was found in the seafood market. It’s nearly a wartime scenario in the country. The swab testing recently is done, and guess what, the rise in the cases is observed. If the guidelines are not followed, people looking for freedom might lose their life permanently while fighting with the self-immunity, not even with someone else. Your body is a battlefield now; you have to fight for your system and not by raising questions to others.

At the time of writing this article, the cases are at 10 million, and still, there is no seriousness among the people. Being at home doesn’t mean you’re free; you need to contribute your work and show dedication towards society. We are a social animal, and yes, we also need to be controlled to control the diversion to other illegal tasks.

GOOD TOUCH BAD TOUCH!

There is no one in the world could love their children more than their parents. Yes they protect their children a different layers upon them ,the layers of their knowledge, kindness, infinite love, and moreover many parents have their dreams on their children and so on. Years passed by ,and the relationship between the parents vary some people love for their partners increase and some increase cases of divorce but maximum parents after ages they live for their childrens . In this developing era as parents you should be more updated to seek what’s going around your society. The cruelty and the inhumanity of those selfless bullies are all around your society aware parents! That might be your neighborhood, your family friends, your relations, nearby shopkeepers and many. Your childrens are the young clusters it builds up by your stories, teaching , strength. And this is the high time ,Teach your child what is good touch and bad touch. Make them self protective.

What is good touch and bad touch ?

Good touch” as a way for people to show they care for each other and help each other (i.e., hugging, holding hands, changing a baby’s diaper). “Bad touch”, on the other hand, is the kind you don’t like and want it to stop right away (e.g. hitting, kicking, or touching private parts)

How to teach your childrens?

First thing is be friendly with your childrens both father and mother should sit together with the children for their learning . There are lots and lots of videos and slideshare are available show them the videos of good touch and bad touch. Educate them both the girl child and the boy child .

  • Use appropriate language
  • Explain the concept of privacy and body space
  • Expect questions
  • Don’t laugh or giggle even if the question is silly or is completely based on a myth
  • Be brief
  • Don’t force affection

Teach them some ground rules for safety: Teach them it is not okay for anyone to look at or touch their private parts — the area covered by their underwear. It is easier for a child to follow a rule, and they will more immediately recognise a “bad touch” if they have this guideline in mind. Reassure your children that you will listen to him or her, believe him or her, and want to keep him or her protected. – ET

IMPORTANCE OF DRINKING WATER FOR YOUR SKIN

Drinking an adequate amount of water daily is essential for overall good health because water helps in digestion, circulation of blood, absorption and even excretion. But when we talk about drinking large amounts of water daily for proper skin health does it have any benefits??

Yes it do have certain benefits. Claims have been made that drinking water gives you a radiant, healthy, younger looking complexion and a lot more skin benefits.

The fact is that skins is an organ and just like an other body part our skin is made up of cells where these skin cells too are made up of water. Without sufficient water the organs will certainly not function properly at their best. When your skin does not gets adequate amount of water then it turns dry, tight and flaky due to lack of hydration which will turn our skin more prone to wrinkling.

As water is lost in large quantities every day, you need to replace it somehow. The unfortunate truth about drinking water is that it will reach all other organs before it reaches to skin. So it’s important to apply water on our skin in every possible ways.

Drink more water at least 10 glasses ever day. This will help body rid of toxins and will make your skin glowy. Those who suffer from acne will also feel the same results. But it is to be remembered that nothing will happen overnight, it will take some couple of weeks to see the results in your skin till then start increasing intake of water every day so that you can see how hydration can affect your own skin. But for this you have to try if initially it will not benefit you much then certainly it won’t even hurt you.

Storytelling.

The story goes in the early 90’s. A student who for the education purpose was living away from his home without having any disturbance through his family. He used to live in the city of Rajathan. He got the invitation from one of his close friends to attend his cousins wedding. It was in the village of Rajasthan somewhere near by to that city but still far as of his reach. He was 17 back then and was living alone. So he gave it a thought and as he was living far from the village how will he be able to go were the thoughts running in his mind. He refused to go and tried to cancel the plan but at the same time was curious to attend the village’s wedding. So atlast he decided to visit the village and attend the wedding.

After informing to his parents he left soon to attend the wedding which was scheduled 2 days later. He reached the village and his friend picked him up from the station and both went to his friends house. His friends was happy as they were meeting after long time. After freshing up he takes some rest so that he can attend the rituals later. He wanted to travel the village but his friend refused as he was quiet busy but he asked multiple times so his friend couldn’t refuse. It was already evening..and luckily one of his friends uncle asked them to sit in their car but mid way they have to leave as his uncle had some work. Now it was getting dark and no vehicle was passing by. After waiting for long time a bus arrived so they both without giving it a thought sat in the bus. There were few villagers around 10-12 including them both. Slowly by every passing stop people were leaving the bus as their destination arrived and a time came when only those 2 friends and the conductor and the driver were left. Both were worried as it was dark and had no cellphones and smart phones to carry around. They were getting negative thoughts and were afraid that they might get bankrupted by robbers in the midway or the conductor and the driver were the goons of the robbers as it was common in those day.

They were in some vacant area where no one seems around even from far side. After around 10-15 minutes out of nowhere the bus stopped and their heart throbbed. They were in utter shock and disbelief as whatever they were thinking was slowly turning into reality. Now both the conductor and the driver gave fishy look. Both the friends gave the numb look as they didn’t know what was going to happen. After being asked they told that they are going out to have some snacks and tea as they are hungry. Both friends believed that sonething is fishy and were terriefied as hell. As soon as the conductor and driver got off the bus they slowly put on the door lock and closed each and every window. Now they got some relief as they both were in the bus but soon they will be returning to the bus was terrifying and were giving them chills. Both were cursing each other for not listening. Soon the enjoyment was turning into the matter of survival. And they heard the knock on the door..both the driver and the conductor came back to the site and were knocking on the door but both the friends refused to open. Whatever they were speaking were not audible either side as the windows were closed so they couldn’there each other. The conductor and the driver thought that they are planning to take away the bus and both the friends were thinking that they are planning to rob them and kill.

After that the conductor and the driver started to knock more rapidly and loudly and were shouting fron outside like anything. One of them after observing the action of conductor and the driver thought that they are trying to explain something and they opened one window into half..! The driver and conductor sighed out of relief and asked why did they close the doors and the windows..and on the other side both the friends asked that where in this vacant jungle area they found tea seller..both the conductor and driver were confused and laughed loudly and told them that the diesel has been finished in the bus and it was at the back of the bus so they went to bring and fill it ; )

The Wonderful “Village Life”

The life of the village or the rural life of the people is considered to be those who live far away from the cities and like cities they do not get all kinds of facilities. The life of the village people is very different as compared to the urban people. In today’s article, I will tell you about the way people living in rural villages live their lives and their beautiful environment as well.
Today India is a developing country.

Even then there are many more villages in India today than in the cities. According to the report, more than 75 percent of the Indian population lives in the village. The life of the village is quiet, green and pollution free.
Seeing the beauty and greenery of the village fields is something else. All major decisions in the village are passed through the officer and sarpanch of the panchayat office.

Even today, the life of the village is very different from the cities in this modern era. The facilities of complete education in the village are not available even today. Even today most of the villages have only primary school facilities and some big villages have only high school facilities.
Even today, the children of the village have to go to big cities for college or higher education. In such a situation, people who do not have money to send their children to the city, they stop their education. Thus most people remain uneducated in the village.

Earlier, all villages in India used to have chaat made of bamboo and straw and houses were also made of mud, but now with the help of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, poor people are getting pucca houses in the village for free.
Almost all the villagers do farming and raise chickens, cows, buffalo, oxen and goats in their homes. Also, the people of the village do not go to buy vegetables in vegetable market like urban people. Everyone grows vegetables in their fields and gardens and eat their own homegrown vegetables.

The main work of the village people is farming. Even today, all the grains that people eat in cities come from the village fields. Even today, in this 21st century, there are many villages which do not even have good roads to reach.
There are very few people living in the village compared to the city. People in the village have a lot of open space around their house and not everyone has a motorcycle or a car. Most people in the village have a bullock cart as a vehicle. But in some places now people in the village also have the facilities of car-motor.
Now first aid centers have also been opened near the village from the government, due to which the people of the village are also getting facilities in the field of medicine. For the time of emergency, the government has now provided free 108 ambulance service in most first aid centers which have proved very helpful.

People of the village hold weekly small markets where people go to buy clothes, food items, electricity and other essential items. If he has to buy some big things, then he goes to the nearby city.
The weather in the village is very pleasant and the atmosphere is very clean. Today, due to pollution in urban areas, breathing has become difficult. But this is not the case in the village. Due to less vehicular traffic in the village, pollution is minimal and hence the environment is also clean.
But in rural areas where there is scarcity of water, the water resources are very unhygienic because in most of the villages where people wash clothes, bathe cow-buffalo and bathe in the same water and eat and drink that water.

Most of the people in villages in areas where farming is not being done properly due to some natural reasons are below the poverty line (BPL-Below poverty line). They do not even have food grains to eat for a period of time because they do not have fields or water is not available in the fields.
The first few years ago, the life of the village used to sink into darkness as soon as most of the villages had no electricity. Today most of the villages have access to electricity. Now the children of the village are also working hard and achieving many successes in the field of education.
Today, even though people in urban areas have forgotten the culture and tradition of India to some extent, even today, the tradition and culture of our country is deeply rooted in the hearts of rural people. The village festival does not have as much fireworks and light as the cities, but it has the right rules, and people enjoy the festival together.

Even though the life of the village looks very painful to see, but it is very beautiful and beautiful. Today, due to internet and good roadways, the rural life of India has also taken a long way forward.
