Independence Day of India

Today is Independence Day
We are happy and gay
Today we remember great souls
Who sacrificed their lives for soil
Who fought for freedom
And attained martyrdom
It is time to cherish
The compassion and passion
For mother India
And march ahead for noble mission
To keep country safe and secure
Make our hearts pure
And for sure
And it’s time to understand
And steadily stand
Against the foreign forces
And internal disturbances
We are Indian first and last
No matter what is our caste and creed
Faith and breed
Service to nation comes first
Arise awake and stay steadfast
Be on the forefront and not behind
Once again say ‘Jai Hind’
